Friends, I am looking for a correct tool roll and jack kit for an early 308. I can't pay the crazy prices on easy that none is biting on but will pay a fair price for the correct set! Rob
Welcome to the world of the appreciating 308. Great if you got. Not so great if you want. You just have to find someone who doesn't know what they're fetching. BTW thanks for the tutorials.
I think there are some guys like TR on ebay who is really asking more than the market will bear. maybe not for a 9M car but for a 308 $4 is about more than double what a good one should bring
Well, the answer is easy, Bradley: put inside two fully complete set of 328 tools I already have: all screwdrivers, wrenches, pliers, spark plug tools...saved here and there all along the years. Rgds
Nerofer, you would be smarter selling me any of the parts I need so you would not have to be burdened looking for those extra bags! HAAAA Rob
But I would be delighted indeed, Robert. Nevertheless, not even taking into account the taxes, etc...the main objection is I think that there is not one single tool in common between the 328 tools and the GT4 one? Rgds
Bonhams Auction, Goodwood FOS 26th June 2015 Lot 104 A FERRARI 308/246 TOOL ROLL AND BROCHURE, £700 - 1,000 €970 - 1,400 Lot 105 A FERRARI 308/246 TOOL ROLL, £700 - 1,000 €970 - 1,400 Lot 106 A FERRARI 308/246 TOOL ROLL, £800 - 1,200 €1,100 - 1,700
Nice tool kits but...... Interestingly a couple of the other sets 355/512 didn't sell How much does that make the 308QV manual reprint worth on its own !!!
Holy crap! Pictures here: Bonhams : The Goodwood Festival of Speed Sale: Collector's Motor Cars and Automobilia
................just went in the garage and my tool role was still with the car. I may move it into the house and put it under the bed (just the tool role).
I keep mine scattered in the Kitchen, where I can see them! I found the lug nut wrench in the trunk of #22127, when I dropped it off for some work... None of those kits in the Bonham auction have the 308 plug tool? or a window crank of any description. Certainly not 246 kits, they look like later QV or 328 kits, if not the universal replacement kit that Ferrari Classic Parts UK used to sell for $400USD
The 4k pound one has the slot for plug tool, the 3750 and 1875 pound sets seem to be missing that! Have you seen this kind of pouch before, BigTex?
Geez! I wonder what a ring nut tool is worth these days? This looks a little more reasonable.... Image Unavailable, Please Login
Well, they are very easy to identify: - lot 104 is a 328 tool roll; all tools are correct, I have just a slight doubt on the last two pockets at right of the roll itself, but it might come from the screen of my smartphone. Price paid is ridiculous, you would have no problem to find a complete one with brand new tools for about 1200 euros in Italy (they traded for 300 euros in 2012, that I can attest...) - lot 105 is the factory tool roll # 127736 that was also the one of the early Testarossa; not good for 308/328, as it has no spark plug tool pocket... and no spark plug tool. And ridiculously overpaid here, I have two, one with brand new tools, the other with used ones, and I shall be happy to let these go for 650 and 550 euros respectively (cost of P and P to be added...) - lot 106 is another Testarossa tool roll, it has even the big towing ring specific to that car that usually goes into the jack bag. Let's hope that the guys who bought these at the prices these sold for really knew what they were buying...but judging by the prices, I guess not. As we say in french: "un pigeon se leve chaque matin..." Rgds
Yes, but not one tool is period correct, not even the roll itself. "Buy cheap, you'll buy twice" Rgds
