Correction the CS is not a limited edition it is a special edition! A limited production car is a car where the factory states there will be X amount produced such as the Ferrari 599 GTO only 599 of those cars were to be produced therefore it is a "limited edition" they did not do that with the CS!

It's definitely not. The rpm gauge is black, not yellow, and at the beginning you can clearly see the 360 stereo and climate control.

earlier i wrote that my impression is that the 360 sounds the same as CS, which stokpro disagreed and i promised to post a video of wot & startup of the lowly 360

 

He was talking about the sound of a 360 being similar to a CS.

 

Never mind! He responded faster than me.

 

Not even CLOSE in sound. The CS is in a league all its own.

not sure if these info requires a separate thread so I'll just post here
background - I bought a fairly beat up example b/c didn't want to pay too much and didn't want to worry about depreciation when I drive it. This is true especially for the interior: faded dash and worn alcantara.
I saw a more pristine example and want to restore the well used interior to its former glory.
Took the car to an upholstery place as recommended by Ferrari of Silicon Valley (BTW, top notch service and customer care there, especially Joe M).
Here are the break down -
reupholstering both seats and upper and lower dash board (apparently the shop can laser embroider the horse to match the existing one): $8-9000
blue tooth speakers (the car did not have factory speakers. custom speaker boxes to match interior): $3-4000
There was a detailing shop and ceramic coating but the guy wasn't in today so couldn't get a quote. Likely $1.5-2000 (pure speculation based on another shop's estimate)

Not sure what to do. I want a nicer interior and sound (http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/360-430/484285-speaker-cs.html#post143905103) but not sure I want to spend upto $13,000 to get it.
Man, keeping an exotic is expensive!!
If I decide to go for it will post pics.

(just want to put the info out there for comparison and if anyone has any comment on price, especially in Bay Area, please let me know).

Sounds like u should have spent a bit more for a better car so u wouldn't have to go through this... It is always cheaper to buy a better car than restore a cheaper one... Good luck!

 

Normally I'd agree. But adding 13 grand to a 20,000 mile example to make it look new might be a pretty good move these days given the price spread between a 20k mile car and say a 4k mile car.

 

that was 3 years ago. I was hoping to have no worse than $5000/year depreciation with this car.
Had I purchased a more pristine example, I would have expected $10,000/year depreciation.

The car was purchased to enjoy and drive, not to be stared at and rubbed with a diaper.
Either way, the difference in price is > than the restoration cost.

Never thought these things would appreciate.

 

That's pretty expensive, but to do the dash properly requires someone good and detailed. I bet seats are less than half the cost.

A good detail will also last forever with proper care.
