    The car shown is a lightweight C type. If it is real they only made 3 of them. My understanding is that they are in the ballpark of $10M plus.

    That is the first time I hear of a lightweight C-Type. What distinguishes the 3 cars you mention from a regular C-Type?

    The last three cars produced were lightweights. They had thinner sheet metal for the body. A special lightweight wiring harness (smaller gage wire?), weber carbs with a cold air intake (scoop on the bonnet), and D Type disc brakes. There were also a number of other things like a bladder style (as used in the D Type) fuel cell, plus some other smaller differences. Basically they reduced the weight increased the horsepower and improved the brakes.

    I think the only car worse than the Yugo and the TR7 was the TR8 which would, often for no reason at all, burst into flames.

    Yes indeed!

    I owned a TR8 for almost 25 years, took it to Europe with me in the 80's as well. Few problems overall and most all were attributed to the ethanol. And I never had to service it's a/c either (remained very cold throughout). Never heard of a fire on an 8.

    The end of the line Solihull TR8s are the cars Triumph ever built! And the most powerful too. :)

    Our little bit of Britain. The first 10,000 miles have been nothing but exceptional. The only car I've ever had that I can drive for four hours, park in the garage, and want to do it all over again!

    Just came back from Le Mans, now seriously thinking we need to add another British car, Aston Martin Racing is doing such a great job that I'm seriously eyeing up V8 Vantages. A 2009 with a stick would be just about perfect.

    My father had the same black over black MGA back in the late fifties, only selling it when I was born because it was my parents only car and purchased a used 57' Buick Special in early 61'. I did unknowingly ride in it several times on my mom's lap until the Buick was purchased. My Mom was a schoool teacher prior to my arrival, and all of the kids thought it was the coolest car around since not many were in Columbus , Ohio back then. Nice car that you have!

    A 100% original in every way S3 Elan SE...... Mechanically Restored/Updated where needed to get her humming. Previous owner had the car for 45+ years and took very good care. Never repainted. Awesome patina.

    Adding another British car to this topic! Currently working on an F355F1 Spider and browsing around this great site.
    This is my 1935 MG P-Type Lester Special. These are pics from Conceptcarz from the Pittsburgh Vintage GP and the Hershey Hillclimb. The car was built to a race-car in the mid-40's and raced since, although the main bearings destroyed themselves while I was chasing a car on Watkins Glen last year so this season has been quiet. This is a 939cc overhead cam engine that has been built to race specs and probably has double the horsepower of the original engine.
