You don't need all of that completed to display a car at a car show or show it to customers. The Speciale A options list I received in September last year was simply for the F142 VS, no other name than that.

Right. Ferrari is really the only one who can do this. They could have the car practically sold out without a name.

Call me crazy and maybe its just me BUT IMHO this F12 re-design looks a bit like the 2015 C7 Corvette Z06. I also think the gills and curves look a little like the 2016 Dodge Viper ACR (sans wing). On the upside, the C7 Corvette and Dodge Viper ACR are beautiful cars. Just saying and yes I'll gladly take an F12 VS allocation sight unseen.

It does look fantastic in the pictures but somewhat less fantastic in yellow which seems to show up a number of, to my eyes at least, fussy design details.

Based on the recollections of those who have seen the car and heard the spec of it, this will be a monster from a performance point of view.

Looking at the latest Giallo pic, I see why you chose Nero S

It does look like the Z06 launch car, especially the front grille.

I don't see Corvette or Viper at all. Lets see the real pictures before we make too many judgements. This thing looks like a proper Ferrari XX car.

I believe he posted 400k euros inc tax a while back.

Perhaps we are looking at the name the wrong way round. The physical elements of the car scream more GTO than any car Ferrari has made since the 250 and 288, and even more than the 599 GTO. This cannot have been anything other than a deliberate intent to incorporate specific design elements from the real GTO's, 250 and 288, iduring the development process when we know the project was referred to as GTO within the team responsible. All that has been questioned is how it could be referred to as a GTO with no track car link, albeit the 599 did already challenge the historical, albeit not literal, interpretation.

Rather than wondering how they could justify using the name as it is not derived from a track car, perhaps the plan is to turn this car into an F12XX programme which now needs a more modern brother to the FXXK? Also how could there possibly be a more extreme version of this platform and maybe GTO will become the badge applied to the V12 extreme range like Speciale to the V8. That would justify it being badged as it looks.

Although I doubt there is any F12XX in the works (but who knows, Ferrari will have them all sold out if that's the case - although it will be a pointless exercise sat next to FXX K), I think the analogy of how GTO could be in the process of being rebranded is onto something.

Can anyone make out what is says on the dummy rear plate on the rendered car?

Do you think the leak will push Ferrari to release at least the official picture and press kit ?

Wouldn't be suprised the "leak" was deliberate.

As for price my UK dealer suggests I expect around 450K GBP. My 599 GTO was 330K GBP list, c 50% up on a GTB at the time.

How does that make sense when we know the euro cost equates to less than £300k?

Generally speaking F'chat seems way ahead of the dealers on this one generally.
