360 challenge cars with VINs and titles ?

So I recently dismantled a 360 coupe and when I was trying to sell the tub I had a few guys with Challenge cars trying to buy the clean title and VINs from me. they said Challenge cars did not have VINs and they wanted to register them for the street.
So far I kept the title and VINs but I've seen several challenge cars for sale recently and they all seem to have VIN #s . Is this from people doing just what the others were trying to do and using a VIN from another car or did they actually come with a VIN.
Just peeked my curiousity.

 

They do have a Vin number it is on the A post of the car on my Challenge.

 

But it is not a street legal VIN. Also, if I remember correctly think the 360 Challenge VINs are intentionally missing a digit to ensure they're not registered on the street.

 

So what is more fraudulent, swapping a VIN on a car or getting around the no title issue via a registration friendly state?

 

360 Challenge VINs are standard Euro-spec 360 Modena VINs (i.e. ZFFYR51B000******). You cannot tell just from looking at a VIN whether it is for a 360 Modena or 360 Challenge. This is unlike F430 and 458 Challenge cars that have their own format of VIN that does distinguish them from their street equivalents.

I have a Euro spec 360, 50 state legal with DOT, and EPA papers and OEM roll bar, carbon race seats, 4 point oem harnesses, etched...lots of challenge parts including 430 challenge wheels and brakes.

I really couldn't get any closer to a challenge car on the street with OEM Ferrari parts, makes me smile
