You yourself were wondering the same question a few hours ago saying your dealer was expecting the 450k pounds....

I agree with you. Is it possible to spec the car without the insert?

I would like to see the car in Grigio Ferro Met. / Grigio Titanio.

Still trying to get some info about a preview date / invite from my dealer, but as he says "You know more than me."

    Shut up

Thanks Andrew. Can't wait until the configurator is available to all of us. At this point I'm completely open and hoping to see some better pictures up close before making any decision. I plan on taking all the time I need to spec. it just right!

Those colours would suit the car nicely. If I was to decide, Giallo Tristrato or Rosso California. But if my dealer were to even get any allocations, I'd pass. If 450 thousand euros is the price without tax/vat/import tax, the base msrp would be around 1.83 mill euros in my neck of the woods, and no, I'm not paying that for any F12.

What? Do F12's even exist where you're from?

I think the F12 is too large to suit the lighter shades of red or any other 'base' color. Would have to be Rosso Cali / Maranello / Fuoco / Barchetta or similiar.

Considering that at this point it is not official to some and in some areas (although i do believe 100% what Epilinski says) and considering we are talking about Ferrari, i dont see why my asking a price update (when others had chimed that their dealer were expecting a higher price) is such a bother to you. But as you said, next.

Haha, yes, we have 458's, F12's, FF's and Cali's here. F40's, F50's, Enzo's and LaF's too. Welcome to Denmark. The country with the highest automobile tax in the world. Import tax 12% + 25% VAT + 189% plate tax. Imagine paying the same for an entry level Merc CLA 200 as you would pay for a nicely specced Merc E500 in the states. Happy motoring:)

What most do, is owning condos, summer houses etc. in countries with lower taxes. Germany, UK, France, Spain, Italy and so forth. This method is a bit "grey" but it's not illegal. You can of course make your company purchase the car, in which case you can register it for "only" 94,5% and not pay VAT. You need a good and creative accountant for that to work with a Ferrari, but it can be done.

Did I forget to mention the options you put on the car is taxed the same way?;)

Absurd taxes. Makes me angry and I don't even live there! Do they just want you to pedal a bicycle (or is that outlawed)?

High taxes also Thailand, here we effectively pay 3.28 times the ex-factory price and options are taxed the same way as they're included on the invoice!! You wouldn't be paying the tax on the Euro 400k Elipinski mentioned you'd be paying on the dealer's import price I presume.

Is the plate tax some "green" thing or just "bend over and take it" ?

I suppose because it get tiresome that people drop into threads, don't bother to read into them, and keep on asking the same question, time after time. If you are interested in what the thread is about, then at least read the last few pages so you are informed on the subject. Next up some will be asking if there is a limited edition GTO coming.

We know, beyond peradventure that the ex factory euro price is circa €400k inc taxes in Germany and this has been repeated endlessly, including by yourself. it is pointless to speculate what he price in each of the worlds 196 countries will be and that will simply be a matter of calculating local taxes.

DK308. One J Clarkson once told me that some form of luxury tax, specifically on boats, in Denmark was voluntary but that most people who could afford such largesse were happy to pay it as the stigma in not doing so was unacceptable-is that correct?

Me too. At the same time, we pay an income tax of 65% of anything earned above 60k'ish euros a year. Below it's between 37 and 42 % depending on which municipality you live in. It is truly absurd. You don't even wanna know what we pay for electricity!!! But if anyone ever suggest wind power in your area, just shoot them on the spot.

As for bicycles. Well, Copenhagen and other large cities here have the largest net of bicyclelanes in the world - so they are favored. Funny thing is, that car drivers are taxed to pay for them, not bicyclists. Go figure.

Yes. But from what I understand here, the price of 400-450 euros are without VAT or any other kind of taxes - i.e, factory base price, or is 400-450 euros with VAT and local taxes in Germany? It does sound high. A nicely averaged specced, but not amazingly specced F12 is roughly 1.1 mill euros on the road here.
The plate tax, is a tax you pay to register the car, so yes, bend over and squeal. We do have a green tax and a weight tax too. Each are paid twice a year. Green tax for a normal F12 is roughly 2200 euros annually, and weight tax is about 1200 euros annually.

But hey, at least housing is cheap and the educational system is great - or that is what our government likes to think. If I had the time and masochistic tendencies. I'd tell you all about our real estate taxes...

For me the design is SP America at the front and sides, and F12 TRS at the back. Stunning.

The back is plain fugly. OMG that black stripe. OMG the three vents at the top of the haunch???

That back is so terrible, it actually makes the front look OK. Looks way better in the yellow render.

    Orange-bown? Do you mean cuoio?
Instead of the white tach I had chosen a red or yellow one. But the rest I think will look very nice! To golden wheels I think golden calipers would look better. But black also wouldn't look bad.

PS: What's the roof color of your LaFerrari?

Apologies for the late answer. I had to rush a bit, and missed your post.

Yes and no. There is a luxury tax on larger boats over a certain price point and size(can't remember), but it is not voluntary, and it is nowhere as ridiculous as our taxes on cars. However, as with any system there are loop holes so to speak, and they are easier to use on boats. Without getting into too much detail, a 70 foot Princess is much easier to write off as a company asset for business use, than an F12. What people tend to sometimes frown upon, is when you tell it's a private boat, when in fact it's a company boat. In other words, if you make it look like you're wealthier than you are, you're not seen as a responsible and trust worthy person of any statue. As in most places, you sometimes see people who came into big money fast, and they try to get everything at once, and then they'll try to make ends meet in any way possible because they over-did it. There's a saying for big boats. Never spend more than 10% of what you're worth on it. A big boat will suck you dry, fast.

That being said, most people who has done well, or have been brought up around money but have been taught to respect them and be sensible, don't spend money unnecessarily. None of us pay more tax than we have to. If someone does some shady stuff, that is of course always frowned upon, but those who think you have to give your money away for free to a system that already performs robbery in broad daylight? Nah, that would just be regarded as incredibly odd behavior.

My dealer has declined both to confirm the car exists and indicates that they cannot take deposits on unannounced cars.

How many people here have gotten their dealers to admit this car exists or is coming and who has successfully placed a deposit on one?

Your dealer is playing games with you- they know their allocations...
