    LOL!

Sounds pretty muted in that video...especially when you hear the NA ones around it. Doesn't sound like it is being pushed the entire time either.

Needs louder exhaust for sure....for me anyway : )

This mirrors my experience with the Cali... Furthermore, my friend in Germany with the Ferrari rental business has very little interest in his Cali T. Even with repeated price reductions... nobody wants to rent/drive it! That's pretty telling...

Subjective things aside; I have yet to see any sales figures for the T, but my dealer has barely sold any. Easier to sell the Speciale (now 488) and even F12 than the Cali T. Post-tax there is barely any price difference between the T and 488, furthermore people looking for a "GT cruiser" like the T, don't need all that performance it offers, which means they hop on over to something like a GranCabrio instead (FIW, I drove a GranCabrio and Cali T on a road trip, the GranCabrio was far more entertaining on ordinary roads). Vice versa, many clients pay the small increase in price to order a a 488 which has much more of a supercar appeal. The Cali T falls between to chairs; too expensive and an excess of performance, but lacking the appeal of a 'true' supercar.

In this regard the comparison between the two total different business models "supercar rental" and "supercar sales" is a little bit shaky, the customer has to make two completely different decisions.

You can love this car or not, there are two facts: the California is for Ferrari regarding the pure sales figures (generation of economies of scale between the different product lines) and new customer acquisition the most important model.

I wish Ferrari stopped trying road car fronts/lips resemble F1 fronts/wings. It just doesn't work for me.

To answer Mayor and DavidJames about the Cali T:

    - weak sound even with top down
    - turbo-lag
    - over-priced for the car you get imho (mainstream build quality, impersonal feel)
    - had a brand new demo for a day and car was full of glitches:
roof mechanism overheating, myriads of error codes like manettino, e-diff, and
    other failures

Actually the best feature of the car was that you could hear Lola all the better
when she was passing by LOL

Depends on what you are looking for....
I took delivery of a new Cali T (coming out of a 09 Cali and 12 Italia) ... I kept it for two weeks trying to like it and returned it and ordered a 15 spyder.
Yes the Cali T is a "better" car but something was missing in this version.
Yes it is faster but to me the Ferrari soul was significantly diluted and the car was much less fun to drive. So much torque you could leave it in 3rd gear all day long.
That doesn't mean that it isn't a "better" car as in may aspects it was, but it didn't deliver anywhere close to the experience i was used to in both the original Cali and 458.

For those who like the new CALI T please don't pile on. I am only relating MY experience and observations .. The good news is that there are MANY MANY vehicle options to explore in the Ferrari range both current and prior.

I am very curious to see what the new 488 FEELS like .. Is it faster, no doubt, more refined, of course as it is 5 years newer tech, but it is the delivery of the driving experience to the senses that matters most to me and that intangible feeling is hard to describe in words as it is emotional

After not even 20 mins into the test drive and I was stuck with the car for the rest of the day lol

The issues that I have noticed after driving for a day were mainly with the electronics. we got the car with 80 miles on it. Gave it back with 200 something. Threw 7 check engine lights and the turbo lag was very much present. I liked the interior but it was annoying that I wasnt able to keep up with anyone in the group. Speed and handling wise (as some can agree, Im not the slowest driver). As trofeo has stated: the best thing anout it was the open air experiemce of hearing lola. The cali T is the reason why I was so worried with the 488. Still waiting on driving it and hoping itll be a change for the better

Wow then the regular Cal must really suck!

Here's a note to everyone reading this: All Ferrari's are overpriced.

Glitches, smitches! It's Italian. (No, that's a joke. Actually, these issues are uncalled for but you see them in all F models, not just the Cal T).

From what I heard, the Cal T sound is good and turbo lag is hardly noticeable if that.

I can tell you for a fact you can feel the cowl shake in the 458 spider that you can't in the coupe. So, does that make the spider "suck"? Somethings you just have to accept for what they are -- or leave it.

Yes. 488s sounded like modern day F1 cars. :(

The Speciale engine is a work of art. Perhaps the most beautiful engine i ha ve ever seen.. Almost a crime to hide it ala Aperta...and i love covertibles. ;)
