About time! Glad to read this! Finally a recent detailed book on the Countach... As for the Miura, this car truly deserves it too.
Why would they plan for a smaller wheel for the "new" tyre? when a 15' wheel was more adequate for bigger brake rotors... when testing began they switched to standard 14' I think. Image Unavailable, Please Login
That looks like the 15's to me. the holes look squared rather than D's and the size doesnt look 14" (though the angle may be misleading)
Route 66 always have some humerous descriptions on the cars they have for sale. Here are some jewels from their 88 1/2 they have for sale: "NO DREAMERS OR JACKOFFS PLEASE !! NO TRADES NO IRAQ CURRANCY EXCHANGE DEALS NO SCAMMERS ,THIS CAR IS NOT CHEAP OR A BARGIN ,ITS PRICED MARKET CORRECT AND WILL ONLY GO UP IN VALUE ,ITS A JOY TO DRIVE AND HAS NEVER LET ME DOWN........" Joe do You have more info about 1121434 ? The blue 400S with 5-liter FI ? Does the rear deck use the QV engine cover? Or is it still the standard flat one ? Thanks.
According to the registry the blue 1121434 has 5L FI engine. Looks like the engine is much taller and needs a QV lid.
I remember when they bought it. Bought it from the estate of a person out in NE Oregon along the River. I went and viewed it as well..lost out to their higher bid..which at the time (couple plus years ago) was way to high..now its probably just about right...best of luck to them..
