488 GTB (458 replacement)

It's interesting how the side vent looks smaller with a painted splitter as opposed to the CF or black splitter. I thought the CF splitter would be a near-automatic choice, but now I'm not sure. Need to see 'em in person.

I'm also not sure about the carbon fiber in the front lip...

The 488 was the worst sounding, and it wasn't even close.

I kinda liked the 570.

 

Wow, 488 sounds awfully bland among that mix.

 

I think Mac has a hit on their hands with the 570. I like the styling, the performance vs price, the sound and even the looks. The interior is really well done.

Actually, when I first saw the 570 I said here on Fchat it was by for the best looking car they had made, including the p1.

The 488 just looks like a miss mosh of elements instead of one cohesive form to me.

 

Not exactly a high bar, though.

Mac 570s will be fast, precise well built... blah blah blah. But, if you buy one there will always be this little voice saying "it's really good, but it's not a Ferrari". If I could only have one Sunday car, I don't think I could live with that FOMO.

Agree with your sentiments. I see you're in New Zealand - sorely tempted to take my Aperta there when I get it for a North South drive. Did a brief flying visit to Queenstown, Taupo and then Keri Keri (Kauri Cliffs) in January and it was a fantastic reminder of what a great country it would be to drive - only worry being cameras, police and sheep on the loose!!

 

Haha indeed! We have some great roads but the police are very intolerant of excess speed. The best (least populated) roads are in the South Island. I imagine quick driving near Bangkok is limited to track work?

Ps: you hit some amazing spots on your trip to NZ!

yes - stayed at Matakauri in Queenstown and Huka Lodge in Taupo. Flew Bangkok - Queenstown - Taupo - had to change planes in Auckland as we couldn't land in Keri Keri. Cycled in Queenstown and Taupo as i took my bike down.

I just want them to look over the fact that they can make "anything" and sell it. Why is it so bad to criticize things that should be done better?

I like the P1, but the adjective "aggressive" comes to mind, not "beautiful". I think that applies to all their cars IMHO.
