Getting back to reality, do you think the engine/gearbox might have escaped unscathed? It could form the basis of an interesting project - of course, I may have to buy valves for it.

Odd that there was no insurance, seems somewhat of an oversight.

I've never had an issue organising car insurance on an unregistered vehicle provided the car was either 1. On a trade plate or 2. On a 7 or 28 day unregistered vehicle permit. As long as the vehicle is driven within the restriction of the terms of the permit/trade plate and this is noted at the time of insurance, there should be no issue. Sorry that's been a hard lesson to learn.

On another matter, your car is not salvageable. Best to put it up at Fowles, the Auctions attract bidders who think they can fix the car on the cheap and you'll get a bit towards replacing it.

Let's hope the other drivers are OK.

Kickboxing champ charged following five-car fatal crash

A KICKBOXER known as ‘The Punisher’ has been charged with culpable driving over a crash which claimed the life of an 88-year-old woman in Reservoir last month.

Brunswick 23-year-old Suleiman Abdulrahim appeared in the Melbourne Magistrates Court this week on charges of culpable driving causing death and dangerous driving causing death.

Abdulrahim allegedly slammed his high-powered Ferrari 360 spider into four cars while crossing into oncoming traffic in an attempt to overtake on High St in Reservoir about 3pm on Saturday, June 27.

The Ferrari allegedly hit two cars before crashing head on into a Mazda travelling in the opposite direction. The Mazda passenger — an 88-year-old Reservoir woman — died in hospital last week as a result of her injuries.
