I haven't used this product from GT, but I do business with them regularly for parts. I have used their rebuilding service for a TR switch which turned out fine. They are a good firm to deal with.
I used Dave Helms' Scuderia Rampante for the fusebox issue, and it was perfect.

+1 for Dave Helms. Quick turnaround, perfect solution. Is your box giving you problems or are you just being preventative?

The product from Gt parts is a remanufactured board which is a heavy duty replacement for the original boards. They use much more copper content and you can feel the difference in weight of the boards. These look OEM and fit straight in. The Dave Helms fix is to remove the high load circuits and reroute them via a new set of relays so as to remove the heat source that eventually melts the area around the plugs. These will totally remove any problem with high draw loads, however will not look OEM as the additional relays are visible when opening the fuse panel. The GT board uses the higher copper content as a better heat sink to disperse the heat more effectively. I have been using a Gt board for the last 4 years and had no problems. On initial fitting I noticed features like window speed and headlight problems disappeared. Hope that helps you decide which is best for you. I think there is little difference in cost.

I personally built my own set of relays that took my AC and radiator fans off of my FB.

But, the real problem are the connectors on the FB. Bad connection causes heat that will then eat the fuse box. Moving these circuits off the board only increases the chance that a poor connection will not kill the board.

If the new FB is all copper with out the circuit board layers, then I would go with that.

As I said earlier, I built my own for about $80.

it is not only the AC and the radiator power that kills/melt the FB
    also the fuelpumps

I know it will not look OEM, but why not upgrade the whole system with military grade connectors and components?

I'm planning on doing the fuse box upgrade but now I see there's two choices (Dave Helms' and the one from G.T. Car Parts). Which one is better?

Helms has the better system of the two because he takes out the "power eaters" and gives them on a different powerlead their feed ...

Helms system has made very many owners realy happy and has proven itsself ....

Th GTC system has the same engineering as oem and I believe and thus may eventually fail again imo ... but yeah, who am I to foresee that :D

    Anybody else an opinion ?.....

And how about the prices, do you have those as comparance ? (I don't have a clue ....)

Sent an email asking for the price of the board. When I get a reply I will let everyone here know. I would think it is about the same as Dave Helms. The question is......is it just as good? I certainly am only going to do this once. No point in making extra work for oneself later down the road.
