So my needs nothing 90 348 ts was running perfect, with ice cold a/c as well. Then, out of nowhere, two discouraging fluid leaks (front right cam area and the pumpkin) got my attention. Plus the speedo quit right after that.

Might as well take advantage of the three day weekend to investigate.

    While I'm at it:

    - Replace the triple seals

    - Swap the two-can exhaust for a single from a Spider

    - Replace the slightly melted left taillight

    - Test and evaluate Adrian's speedo sensor board (thanks Rich)

I'm using the threads from Ernie, Mike (thanks for the awesome info guys) and others as a guide.

I'll be taking my time since, for me, taking these cars apart is just as much fun as driving them.

The clutch/brake fluid leak is a fairly simple job, just takes time to get everything apart.

Based on Ernie's comment in Mike's thread it looks like my Clutch Release Bearing has been leaking for awhile. But it only became noticeable recently.

    Thanks, and will do.

Putting together my parts order list today.

Guess where the missing metal cir-clip/ring ended up? Yep, it's inside the clutch pack. But that's okay since it's coming apart as well (noticed some fluid inside).

The groove is where the clip rests, but it came off with the clutch assembly which turned out to be heavier than expected. I did anticipate some weight and put a large empty box underneath. That way it fell only about 2 inches after much wiggled/wrestling to get it off.

Here's one of Ernie's photos showing the clip.

BTW, my triple seals were pretty dry in comparison but I'm replacing them anyway.

The groove is there by design, it was not caused by the c-clip

Yes, or at least be prepared for the deluge, assuming you're talking about the one underneath. If you're talking about the pinion nut cover pictured, you can get away without draining.

Yes, I was talking about the pinion nut cover and it makes sense to check both. So drain it is.

I also have a non working speedo. Do you guys know if I need to drain the transmission or can I just get the sensor out without worrying about it, buy new seal and put back in once fixed?

    Thanks in advance.

That's a good question and since the sensor is on the bottom of the trans I would think so. I haven't pulled mine yet and don't know for sure. Hopefully tonight I'll have the answer (maybe save another drain plug washer?).
