McLaren is not that far behind!

If 7 cars in front of them drop out.

Not sure how serious that comment is? If you're serious I'd suggest giving up now as you obviously know nothing of the game.....

That one car reached the chequered flag is already seen as a progress.

Mostly since it allowed their highly-paid double world champion driver to score his first point of the season.

It's a pity the other McLaren was eliminated in the first lap stampede; we could have had 2 McLarens finishing the race perhaps. Now, that would have been something to celebrate.

I fear Ron Dennis will commit hara-kiri before long at this rate ...

You are right, I don't know much about that game, apart that the players need well padded clothing and helmet to prevent serious injury, although ...

But it never did strike me as a sport needing "strategy"; I thought brutal force was enough.
    Just kidding.

    OK, good! ;)

Took me a while to get my head round it - It appeared to be some monster guys running in to each other to me too.

Then, as with pretty much all sport, the more you learn the more you "appreciate" it. Think of the players (even the huge ones) as (very) high speed chess pieces and the coach as the brains - OK, Peyton Manning is the exception to that rule, but you get the point.....

    Cheers,
    Ian

I don't think Ecclestone has a massive ego as Ron Dennis's. I think he puts his wallet before his personal glory contrary to Dennis, who resorts to name calling for Jordan stating the obvious.

Fluke, lots of DNFs and rain.

They´ve been faster at other races. But a point is a point.

Happy for Alonso, finally gets into the points.

Feel bad for Bottas, Williams really screwed him over. They should have let him by when he was clearly faster, and could have actually done it, but he was following orders. By the time Williams got their head out of their ass, it was too late.

Historically Williams have always been tactically stupid. So completely not understandable when so much money is involved!!!

Bottas if he was any good should have moved up in the wet he went back he's not a lead driver . Williams car was maxed out for dry and once they got behind lewis it was over and the wet didn't help there setup . Williams is doing a good job for there budget

And, you don't hear them whining about the costs either..... 'Head down, arse up & get on with it' has always been their mantra. One of the reasons they're so popular among many fans IMO.

They're also nothing short of blessed with the Merc PU of course.

    Cheers,
    Ian

One of the few real racing teams left IMO. Sir Frank could have sold, for gazillions of bucks, a few times over the years. But it's his (and now Claire's it seems) whole life. They're there because it's in their veins.

Would love to see them win it all again, even at the expense of Ferrari...... ;)

    Cheers,

Sure looked that way off the start yesterday!......

As always, I could be wrong, but I really don't buy Uncle Ron's assertion that 'you've got to be a factory team' to get 'the data'. Sure, knowing his plan, Merc weren't about to share too much last season, but that's different to a 'committed' customer like Frank.

Have they reached a ceiling? I dunno, but I sure hope not! Seems they're the only guys that have even a vague chance of catching up right now.

    Cheers,
    Ian

Well Massa did whine early about not believing they had the same updates to the PU as the AMG team. But that ended very quickly and I have not heard it again.
