Damn, he's gotta be the fastest gay in the world!!!!
It's not news when Mercedes win, no one could sensibly bet on any other outcome, rain or not. I would imagine hambone fans have to be concerned that Nico was flying in damp conditions and nailed hambone, several seconds a lap. But isn't he supposed to be a rain God? Shame Nico didn't dash into the pits after taking him, nicking his tyres, would've won by a country mile. Never mind, next time
i was concerned when Nico was taking a few seconds a lap out of Ham. But once they were both on inters Ham pulled out a gap, from 7 sec to 12 sec and then down to 10.9 (as he slowed down to cross the line). So clearly the pace in the wet is still there (in all wet races last year Ham was a good 20 sec ahead or so). Why Ham was doing so poor on the hards (or whatever tire they were on) seems to confuse us all. He was leading and there is no reason for his tyres to have gone off earlier than Nicos - granted he pitted one lap earlier and I guess they could have suddenly fell off a cliff but still seems very strange. And Nico couldn't dash into the pits because he didn't have track position. He got to 1.5 secs behind Ham before Ham went into the pits.
He's in a car vastly superior to his competition, he should win it this year. Next year depending on who his teammate is and what Allison can do with a clean sheet design at Ferrari may be a different story.
Nothing strange about the situation. It was very unpredictable conditions from turn to turn. Once you start going slower your tyres also drop in temperature and there you go, impossible to get back to speed. Sometimes a condition and car just suit a particular driver. Because you are a clown its just so great that under the most unpredictable conditions Rosberg was munching 2 sec a lap out of your god. Again, nothing strange about it, next time around it might be Hamilton again having a better feel for the car in weird conditions. That's the way it is. There was a race in Spa one, I think in the 90's where the Schoe pulled out something like 10s a lap in heavy rain. Breathtaking!
Hasn't they just came off the virtual safety car? Maybe hams tires just hadn't switched on - gonna be colder lapping at the front on his own during sc time as well? I wouldn't know... But seems possible. I know ham is usually very good in the wet - and once they were both on inters that was confirmed. Not sure why his tires didn't switch on though - does it go to lack of skill or simply the circumstance (him being in front and the virtual safety car). I would think the latter. Wet races are always the most interesting.
Another argument that the call was not by choice of Hamilton but by need...One lap later and Rosberg might have catched up and even overtaken Hamilton so it would have been not Hamiltons decision who pitted first but Rosbergs (the one then leading)...So basically Hamilton was very lucky that the rain set in exactly in that lap Rosberg had to stay out as Hamilton was in the pits costing Rosberg almost 10 seconds.... Same as at the first stop, Hamilton could do the undercut and Rosberg had to wait one lap and was stuck behind Massa. So again a race that clearly favoured the Mercedes in front over the one following underlining Aircons theory that the one leading in the first corner most likely wins the race (even when there are two Williams in their way) so key is either to get pole or win the run for the first corner...
Yes certainly plausible. Hamilton definitely got lucky today with the rain coming when it did no doubt. Perhaps Kimi also pit when he did because Seb had just passed him and his only chance of beating his team mate was gambling on rain when he did. I think the undercut is just the perks of getting pole. Nico was unlucky to come out the same time as Massa (or BOttas whichever one it was) and not quite make it. But that was decided in qualifying really. Aircons theory seems to be working this year. I expected some passing at this track - but ill give it a few more before saying it is definitive. Last year Lewis qualified behind Nico a lot but always got past him.
How was the confirmed? Were you watching the f1 app? The gap was pretty much the same the whole stint. Nico was about 10 seconds behind after he finished his pit stop and it was 1second+/- from then.
Why would I be antagonised? I could care less who wins if it's not a Ferrari. I didn't care who won when Vettel was winning, and I couldn't care less that hambone is winning. I only want to see Ferrari winning, they are the only team that I care about. I said after Australia last year that no one but merc will win for the next two seasons, maybe three, and everyone else is racing for second place. The only thing that would be nice is for Nico to pull his socks up and beat elton Hamilton to the title, but if he doesn't, so what?
If he does, he does, if he doesn't, he doesn't. I can't stand hambone, so I'd rather Nico beat him and make him cry for the fun of it. I really couldn't care less either way though
Schu was incredible in the rain that wasn't the race where he ended up losing a wheel to Coulthard's car though, was it? (Due to the blinding rain, he didn't properly judge what DC was going to do and ran right into him)
He had several great rainy races.... Spa was one, and it was at spa as I remember that he hit Coulthard dawdling on the racing line
Yap, But D.c did it on purpose, he was in the pits for a couple of laps and then he returned just to ram Shumacher, he hold Shumacher for some laps, than, when Shumacher understod he was not going to let him pass, he tried at the bus stop chicane, and as Shumi picked up the slipstream, Coulthard simply took his foot of the acelerator.....MIchel later went to Mclaren pits and tried to break his face...they had to hold him...nasty buisness...
Agreed furoni, it was a nasty move, he later claimed that Michael should have gone around the outside, despite him being the race leader and lapping the dumb scot!
I believe I recall Schumacher returning the favor while Coulthard was at BMW...brake-checked him right off the circuit in dry conditions.
I'm probably mixing up Coulthard and Ralf Schumacher. I think DC went to Red Bull after McLaren, not BMW. EDIT: it was Fernando Alonso who did it anyway, not Schumacher. I had it all wrong lol.
