First post. Recently purchased this 1984 GTB. lightly federalized. Tan interior. It has the bird screens on the air intake scoops, so I assume it was German market. Imported to the U.S. In 85.

Another Euro QV with black hood louvers! Mind sharing your chassis number? Congrats on the acquisition Dan!

48251. It also has black A pillars and full louvers on the deck lid. It sure looks original but who knows.

A pillars look Rosso (body color) to me, correct for 84/85s. Did you mean rocker panels?

OK guys have a question. I was in the garage this morning fixing the light switch on my car, I am running the aftermarket 16" Wheels and always assumed I had the factory 16 " stock piled in the corner, never really gave it a second thought until this morning, the wheels in the corner are stamped 165 /TR /390. Went out and looked at my 82 GTS In the other shop and sure enough they are stamped the same. Sooo, at this point I am fairly convinced someone took my factory 16" wheels and replace them with their 14", not being big on the metric system is this the case? If so I am going to be so pissed. Mainly at myself because I did check condition just glossed over the size and assumed the dealer sent me when I paid for. :( Nothing like waiting 2 1/2 years to check on something, sometimes I can be such an idiot.

No, wheels in inches are never marked in metric equivalent, even in Europe. Those 390 wheels are TRX wheels, produced for Michelin TRX tires which were specifically produced in metric sizes - they require a different bead profile, so to ensure nobody could install non-TRX tires on TRX wheels, or vice versa, Michelin made them metric sized so that regular 14", 15" or 16" tires can't fit. Ferrari fitted TRX wheels to the 81-83 308s, BBs, 400s (and offered optional 16" wheels on the 308s)

Sorry, yes i meant rockers. While we're making corrections, the tag on the door states that it was imported by "Automobile Locators, 1/84"

AS i understand it all US QV's came with 16" standard. All euro QV's came with metric wheels and the 16" as an option. I think, it's all so confusing:(

Thanks for the input guys, I always thought I had the metric equivalent of 16" factory wheels. If anyone out there has a set of 16" factory wheels that you're thinking of selling, please PM me.

After further Inspection I can see a little red on the trailing edge of the louvers. I believe they were originally red.

All Euro's came factory with body color louvers. It was somewhat common that some were changed to black... probably thanks to Tom Selleck :)

Sigh, that's been refuted often enough lately that the common assumption really should die out - your statement is not true. I've posted several times that my 84 Euro GTS QV in Rosso Corsa came with black louvers from the factory - it's all original paint. Nerofer has posted that my car may have been a special order, but nonetheless came from the factory this way. He also posted that some Swiss market cars came with black louvers also.

Another B, love it! What are those guard rails sticking out from the body line? I haven't seen anything like that before.

Exactly that, guard rails. Added by one of the previous owners.

Thank you for the info. I didn't have that chassis. 141 cars now in the database.
