Driving in traffic and my brakes seemed very weak. I was able to push the pedal to the floor and nothing but if I pumped it the brakes they would come right back. It wasn't doing this all day , just in traffic. Then when out of traffic the brakes seemed fine.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks

This was the first time it has ever happened. It's also the first time the car was ever really driven in traffic. Car has 35k on it 2002 f1. Just had its service. Most if not all fluids were changed. Brake pads were put on about 1000 miles ago.
Other then this the car drives very well. I have had a few minor issues but nothing with the brakes as of yet

Shouldn't happen. Bring it back and have them evaluate it. Can be a few things, none of which can diagnose over the Internet.

Bleed the brakes to purge the air not fully purged during the recent service. Simple.

If its just had a service then it sneakily sounds related huh?!

Well if your not a 360 geek its also worth bearing in mind there where some Model Year (MY) changes to the 360 brake booster vacuum lines, in fact Ferrari revised this part 3 times in total to help improve reliability. These revisions where all related to Rubber Hose which provides the vacuum to the Brake Booster and also adding in a 1 way flow (non return valve) to prevent loss of assistance.

    As can be seen by this illustration (old solution);
Ferrari 360 Modena Parts : Table 41 - BRAKE BOOSTER SYSTEM

Ferrari got rid of the loop in the piping (see picture) and did the curve using the metal piping rather than the hose and added in the non return value. Apparently they where liable to collapsing if they got kinked during removing/refitting bits (e.g. during a service) under vacuum - resulting in total loss of assistance ! (loss of vacuum).

Usually total loss of braking can be one of several things.

    1. Hydraulic Brake fluid issues (air bubbles in the system getting compressed so not actually providing pressure to the back of the pads to clamp them against the discs). Either the flush didn't correctly get rid of all the air (so needs bleeding again - notoriously tricky on the 360 - many people get it wrong if they are rushing to do the job quickly).
    2. Master Servo problems (leaks or inefficiency)
    3. Piping (kinks, bends, collapses in the rubber or leaks). Lack of non return valve causing the vacuum to go opposite forcing a collapse in the rubber piping!
    4. ABS unit & wiring. Sometimes either corrosion on the pins (wiring issues which can be rectified by cleaning them) or the pump itself goes/is weak. The pump is shared with other Bosch ABS 5.3 based cars (only the ECU software is unique to the car - you can swap the ecu over).
    5. Sticking Caliper Pistons (could be the pistons are scratched/corroded) - you can often tell this is happening by feeling the heat transfer to the wheel or by lots of brake dust on that one wheel.

    Hope this helps...

Hi Matthew, I know this is going back several years but what did this issue you were having turn out to be? I just bought my 360 a few months ago and have had this problem only in traffic just like you. I have already bleed the brakes and the problem has returned… only in traffic. Identical issue to your description. Thanks for your response!

This sounds like servo related, loss of vac assist

Thank you! Do you know what parts I should order to replace and fix my problem?

Have a look on eurospares uk site, select your car and then have a look at the drawing for the servo system. It will give you a guide as where to start checking
Just looking at the diagram it looks simple enough, like previous mentioned there is an old and new setup you can see which you have. Non return valves and hoses might be best place to start
