Hi - Tried a search but didn't come up with what Im looking for.

Question is I have a US Spec 308 GTSi and want to change the mirrors to euro version. Ive google imaged quite a few but there seems to be a difference in the shape of the euro versions. Can anyone shed any light on what should be the correct type?

Ive found two options however Im wondering if the Superformance will bolt straight onto the original points as does the latter one.

Wing mirror - Similar pattern to 308 Qv and 328 Manual - WalkerSport - Ferrari Specialists

I just purchased some euro style mirrors from eBay UK about two weeks ago for my 1982 GTSi, they are described as factory correct for earlier cars and that this version would have been placed on your car when it left the factory, anyone's guess if that is true but the gentleman has 100% positive feedback and deals in OEM Ferrari parts. Came to roughly $350 US. There were one set left a week ago. They are Vitaloni mirrors. Attached are pictures for comparison against my 1984 308 euro .

There is a slight difference in casing and the mirror area is about 1/16" shorter in length. The Ferrari emblem can be emulated by just purchasing two cufflinks on ebay and gluing them to the outer case. ( they are the correct dimensions ) Kind of redneck I know but what else are you going to do? I've only seen one pair of factory mirrors like on my 84 come up for sale in two years and they were gone in 30 minutes on F- chat ads

SF has both style for earlier carb and 2V Vitaloni mirrors it seems.

One one from WalkerSport looks like QV and 328 Euro mirrors but not for 2V.

Are you looking for a pair or just left?

Thanks - Im really looking to put on what a 2v euro car would have left the factory with.

Is there a link for the ebay mirrors?

Be careful about the base size if using a USA QV car. I bought the Vitaloni Baby Turbo mirrors which look like the euro QV mirrors(but not powered), but I had to make a plate to over the existing holes, as the USA mirror has a larger base. When you remove it to put the euro on, there will be visible hardware/holes.

Are the ones you bought powered? Do you have a link to the cuff links? I might try to copy you.

Im not worried about the base size as the car will be undergoing a full restoration and will have the doors painted and any mis-aligned holes filled.

The car is a GTSi 2V and I just want the correct mirrors!

Thanks - Im now however very confused. Just went out to take the measurements for the existing holes and the mirrors have wires going to them, but I have no internal switching for moving the mirrors if that's what its for?

I think the "early cars" application statement goes back to 1976!
I have a set those, IIRC named Baby Turbos, on my 1977.

They are far nicer in adjustment range (with the ball joint beneath the bellows) than the more common Vitaloni ovals (California, the name?) which actually only adjust "up and down" on the mounting bolt axis, making the base placement on the door far more critical.
That led to the "mounting at the dealer" legend and lore, because they could be all but useless, if in the wrong place!

    The you have electric mirrors!

    Rare and expensive.

Possibly fitted to your car even though no controls are present?

Alan, my 82 is fitted with an electric flag style mirror on the driver side and came wired with switch. I was going to forgo the Power option in place a euro mirror on each side. After reading your statement above am I making a big mistake by doing this? Love the style I have on my Euro QV, flag mirrors, ..not so much.

Are you sure you don't have the internal control? On my US-spec '81 GTSi (only one side mirror) it's a little stick carefully hidden on the underside of the armrest in the door, all the way forward.

I don't have any knowledge of the later electric mirrors.

Just pointing out, that maybe selling the electric ones would more than cover the manual versions shown in this thread.

Which look almost identical to the electric ones to my eye, except the F logo....

Illustration in the owner's manual, all versions of 2V cars are the same.

Ok - Just been out to check and yes there were lots of wires tucked up where the switch shoul dbe. Ive also just found in the luggage area what looks like a toggle switch, but I really don't like the look of wiring all that back in again.

You can see the type of mirrors I have

Interesting that my manual only goes up to Item 85, no lever shown!

People buy the non-electric euro mirrors, because they sell for under $200(at least when I bought them). Electric ones are $1000. Unless more than one person drive's your car, you never need to adjust them anyway.

Thanks for the cuff link link.

I have a pair of the electric Euro style side mirror that I'm thinking about using to replace my US style, if I do, I might sell my US style side mirrors.

Po put baby turbos on mine. Still not sure if I like them. They have a different foot print than stock and you can see the imprint if you look close.
