I have a 1995 F355 Spider that does not have the immobilizer, or the key fob that is needed to operate it. I recently bought another F355, this time a 1997 Berlinetta, and it has the immobilizer. Fortunately, it came with two keys and two key fobs. I would like to know if there is a way to by-pass the immobilizer in the event that the key fob is lost or the key fob battery dies somewhere far away from my spare? Also, can the immobilizer be permanently disconnected or by-passed?

    + 355 million dollar question.

I would rip all the guts of that out of my car in an instant if a plan existed.

Check on the 456 forum. Someone figured out how to shoot this immobilizer in the head. There is a cost to it.

Karl at Immofixer.com is good people and can give you the best advice to resolve your issues, also they can provide what ever you are missing. I used Immofixer on my F355 Berlinetta and could not be happier with his service.

Meh. I want to remove the alarm system completely. Getting a new PIN is low in my list. Paying for it even lower.

They are exactly the same units. In fact, I swapped a 355 unit into a 550 to see if the car would start, and it did.

I talked to George (Jorge?) yesterday. He has installed two units; a 456, and a 355. They are a direct bolt in. I asked, "How long, an hour?". He answered, "It takes me 15 minutes, it might take you an hour." If you keep your old unit, you can always have the fun of going click-click who know how many times before the car will start by merely switching back.
He is trying to figure out how to do a small construction run, but he has no units now. My 'guess' is that he has to get a batch of Bosch/Porsche units to convert. He is taking names of those interested, and the cost is $875.
