But, and it's a big BUT - as clarkson would say - you can borrow her California T and drive it, while borrowing her Hermès hand bag ...well would be a little strange👀👀

Well thank you very much everyone, this thread and talk of Hermes Birkin bags has just cost me one.... If I want a new car.

It was described to me as like buying the fitted luggage set.... But with additional benefits.

Anyway.. back on topic, any idea when the official unveiling will be ? Pebble Beach some have said

Yes I believe Pebble Beach is the reveal but only to the invited clients from what my dealer said.

In Europe, for these previews, only allocated are invited.

When we asked the global PM at the Australian invitation event whether it would be revealed in Frankfurt, he stated that it would be revealed in October. He may have been telling a "porky pie" to keep us guessing but he seemed quite definitive in his response. BTW all aussie cars allocated - I believe it was 10.

I also understand not at Frankfurt, but shortly thereafter. Frankfurt belongs to the 488 Spider.

What shows are there after Frankfurt? Pebble is in August and I would be a bit surprised if the official debut was not in Europe.

He said it would be at a dedicated launch event. Did not say where. Again only repeating what he stated and I was surprised as well given that would be in parallel or just before the manufacturing of the actual car. So who knows maybe they will surprise us all with an unveiling at Pebble Beach?

Could be a dedicated event in Maranello like the California T launch. Pebble Beach likely to be same as with the 458SA - private.

It's interesting that Australia only get's 12 of the F12 Vs which, is a larger run than the Speciale Aperta of which, Australia got 14!! Makes me think that F12 VS allocations were made based on maybe V12 or GTO ownership.

    That's 2 more than the GTO. A 20% increase:).

For the 599gto (599 produced) South Africa received 16 units, now South Africa is getting 8 of the F12vs, so I think a reallocation of production has happened regardless of the history of 599 Gto allocations using somewhat different criteria.

Perhaps we can each tally each countries allocation to establish total production, starting here so please feel free to add to the list:
    Australia 12
    South Africa 8
    .....

Does someone remember the 599 GTO launch event at Modena's Military Academy ?

I think it really was an awesome event ,such a glamourous place

Maybe Ferrari will do something similar...

it looks like the car has been under allocated and Ferrari is holding back build slots for a second round. Most countries I know have received less F12 VS than 458 SA. I doubt more cars are going to new markets, since Russia is not in the best financial shape and the crackdown on luxury living in China is biting into luxury good sales. Also with oil this low, I don't think Middle East demand has doubled.
I also hear close to 800 units will be produced which does not explain currently reported allocations.
Lets hope I am right, otherwise there is no way I m getting a car!

Fair analysis. The planners at Ferrari must be watching demand closely. With an IPO not far away they want great financials but they absolutely don't want anything other than demand exceeding supply creating the hype Ferrari feeds off far beyond headline VS revenues. A sudden increase in availability would be counter-productive. Would love to be a fly on the wall.

Your numbers are way too low. There's some medium sized euro dealers who are getting 4 cars each.

No idea... My best guess is Sep/Oct if there are indeed allocated cars

I don't know what is their formula about demand-supply. If demand is 1,000 and they build 950, that's keeping balance. But if demand is 2,500 and they build 800, don't you think that's a loss opportunity?
IMO, demand is very high right now because of many people think to get extra income from flipping cars. Some even rent a warehouse to store the cars.

They have already told buyers who have put their money down and specced their cars that it will be less than 800 so I doubt that will change. Having just missed an LF by 1, I was told by my dealer there might be second allocations and if they had one extra car it was mine. There wasn't.
