Turns out Joao is rather good with Photoshop, so here is how 40052 might have looked in its original guise of Rame Colorado and gold wheels.

Why would anyone fit wheels other than original bravos to a silhouette?
It look like the car is badly in need of some attention ....

This car had the front splitter and boot lid spoiler even before it arrived in the US and maybe those wheels too when it was with Jim Heady...

Russ Merrick was trying to sell some gold Jalpa Bravos [not Campies] on eBay a few years ago. Those may be the ones on the Jalpa. I'll email him about the Jalpa vin. Also the Urraco which I see is an early car with the boot badge! There is a good chance that this is 15020, originally arancio, the first P250 consigned to Modena Car US in Oct'72 that subsequently featured in Road and Track...

Originally white this is yet another car repainted red!

Non S Urracos came in such great colours, like jelly babies in a jar, and S Urracos in metallic paint were like jewels: rubies, emeralds and sapphires etc...

This is 40070 originally white and previously in the US, sold to Germany, recently repainted blue in Italy with US side markers removed. Anyone know anything about the offer/sale price?

Correction: I should have said "previously white and in the US" as 40070 was delivered new to SEA Roma in metallic blue.

Great pics! I think this is 40104 originally bianco/nero.

Vin 40104 is duplicated on Pasini's published list. The first entry is against body 23 bianco/nero consigned 20/01/78 to Achilli Motors. The second entry is against body 53 and has no consignment details, with the note "until March 1987 considered incomplete, as shown in factory records. Photo sent however from US (car damaged left side)".

I have always considered the second entry to be a duplication of some sort. Further the car in your pictures is a European bodied car with the number plate lights set low, consistent with the earlier bodies.

I'm now wondering if the entry for 53/40104 was added in the 80's if new body parts or even a new shell was supplied...it would be interesting to see the body number of this car!

I owned a (red) 1985 Toyota MR2 from 0 to 230k miles and have always thought it was a great car and design-wise half a Jalpa.

Apparently the owner of the car above attempted to narrow the gap.
