Kevin, as both you and I remember from Daytona, the noise generated from the NASCAR
cars alone may be heard all the way out to the beach if the wind is blowing right.

While in college there, I lived literally less than two miles from DIS. Those days, NASCAR
teams tested there constantly, sometimes there'd be one or two cars testing, other times,
    dozens of them.

Even with one or two cars circulating around the track, they could be heard clearly from my
place at Wood Forest which was right up Jimmy Ann Drive from the track. So, 40+ of them all
getting up to speed at those times would be clearly heard miles away in the still of night.

So, I'm sure the neighbors really appreciated that the race went to nearly 3:00AM on a
Sunday evening when they all had to be back to work or school the next day. Must have
    been a real treat.

Don't like the noise? Don't move near a race track or an airport. The land was cheap for a reason.

I saw this when living in D/FW. People bought houses right next to D/FW Airport. They wanted the airport to shut down on of the runways because of the noise. Who the h*lll buys a house knowing the airport has been there longer than the development? I swear the country is going wacko. Same for Daytona.....the track has been there I think sixty years. If you don't like the noise....MOVE !

Rant over......time to resume submarining Indy Car ! :D

Drama with Danica and Jr. Jr. Jr.?

Will they be summoned to the fake wood wall paneled halls in Daytonner?

I don't follow closely, but from what I read on Wikipedia,...

99 races run over 3 years
    Best finish27th (2013)

    That seems pretty poor results...T

    You were misinformed.

Let me help you out with the facts.

100th start for Danica Patrick: #10-Danica Patrick will make her 100th career NASCAR Sprint Cup Series start in Saturday's Quaker State 400 presented by Advance Auto Parts at Kentucky Speedway, becoming the first female to reach the milestone. Patrick's six top-10 finishes are the most all-time among female drivers. She is also the only female driver to earn a NSCS Coors Light Pole Award (2013 Daytona 500). On the season, Patrick ranks 20th in the driver points standings. The #10 Stewart-Haas Racing driver is one of 16 female drivers who have competed in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.(NASCAR)(7-10-2015)

She finished 7th at Kansas and 6th at Atlanta. Those are not plate tracks. Will she win, who knows but she has certainly proven she can drive a stock car.

As far as the wreck last night, The #88 had brake problems, couldn't stop and flat ran over the #10. It wasn't her fault at all.

Last week at Daytona she got caught up is three wrecks that were created by other drivers and she had to drive through them. None of that was her fault.

She drives in the top series and has continued to improve. NOBODY here could do better.

You guys make up crap and then complain about it. It's pathetic.

    So, I'm really confused.

Who is the "good guy" and who is the "bad guy" in this deal?

If one of them isn't a guy at all, what sort of conundrum does this pose
    to NASCAR now?

oh come now...her results have only come in races of huge attrition. you know damn well that she has been the recipient of more lucky dog free laps than her peers. you know the track positions she has been able to achieve have nearly always been the result of pit strategy where they have elected to keep her out where others have come in. you know there is no one in nascar that has come into the sport with such a top level package and been afforded full time drivers coaches and immense testing dollars and time at tracks like the rock...don't be a danica apologist as it is simply not becoming.

she runs ahead of only those with no sponsors on their rides. she acts as if she is competitive and one of the racing elite...she is neither. she should have been penalized when she blatantly took sam hornish out at Talladega and she will be given a pass with her antics with junior too.

last, where does she come off with that mouth?

come on stra8, you know better.

Str8, you have to admit, no male driver would of made it to 100 starts in that ride with her performance. Even Joey Logano lost his full season ride with Gibbs with results much better than Danica.

There are females better than Danica, that will never make it, because they won't market their body.

Danica made herself a marketing juggernaut, and it pays well.

True, when an owner can pay the bills and make a tidy sum at years end........you don't even bother with results. You simply try to pitch it again for next year and a bigger budget.

danica could not have carried the helmet bag for desire Wilson or michelle mouton. they seldom ever get mentioned as they were European racers. too bad they were not better known here in the us of a. but then again I am not certain they were bikini material like the psp.

oh well...danica will go down in history as the greatest female racer of all time. :(

So, who would be a male driver similar in experienced level to Ms. Patrick? Joey Logano, who was mentioned, has the following in 237 races...
    WinsTop tensPoles
    99512

    In 99, Danica is...
    WinsTop tensPoles
    061

Is she driving for a lesser team, akin to a back marker in Formula One? Again, I don't follow closely, but I hear her name a lot. See her on commercials. So, am curious.

So, what is more important to NASCAR sponsors, a winning driver or a pretty face?

    It's probably in their contracts!

Been following racing a long-long time obviously and this is the first time hearing about
    a collision in the paddock.

NASCAR changes garage rules in 5-4-3-2...
