Anyone had one of their headlamp pods rise slower than the other? My right hand one is slower and is driving me crazy. Any ideas? Not the motor itself as same thing occurs with two different motors. Not the relay...i swapped them over.
Grease in the motor and mechanism gets gummy and hard. Taking them out, cleaning and regreasing can restore the operation. I never worried about it.
Thanks But...not this Same thing happens with two different motors..one brand new and one original but renovated properly
Check the pod bushings and thru bolt #23 & #16 Also check the linkage #6 Image Unavailable, Please Login
yeah i had this same problem, sometimes the RHS pod wouldn't come up at all until i pushed on the pod. I changed the motor and now it rises faster that the left side, but only marginally. Your lift motor may be on the way out.
Interesting ... my RH motor is slugish as well ..... it even blew a fuse once .... so it is obviously drawing a bit more current than it should ..... I'm gonna try some of the tips mentioned above ..... thanks for posting the info ...
Still cannot get the RH pod to open and close at the same time as the LH .....it lags behind. Wired it direct to battery.....no change. What's making this happen? Happens with a new OEM motor as well as the renovated original. Anyone solved this issue?
Then it must be the pod itself. Perhaps its bushings (swivel points) have partially seized. Did you verify that the pod is moving up and down freely when its linkage to the motor is disconnected?
Tonight leaving a restaurant, my left light wouldn't come up. From lack of use (I presume) my left sometimes gets cranky and either comes up a little slow or not at all. Coaxing at the lever stalk or worse-case manual manipulation at the motor manual override fixes the issue. I have to drive the car more nights
All pivot points seem fine. Bloomin' mystery 2 motors both move the RH pod slower than the LH 1 motor is original 20 year old motor properly renovated as it had failed to retract 2nd motor is brand new OEM from Ferrari. Both operate pod at same slightly slower speed. Driving me crazeeee.... Not going to give up.
You said earlier that you wired it direct to battery and that there was no change. If you just connected the positive motor wire directly to the battery "+" for this test, the power to the motor still went through its original ground connection which might be bad. Make sure the motor has good ground - black wire, it also has an inline connector.
On the subject of grounds (earths), is there a chart which shows the location of the grounds on the F355? It's not always possible to follow the wiring looms to the grounds without pulling the car to pieces. For example, the ground for the right hand headlight motor is listed as ground "70117" on a '94 F355. It's the same ground as the headlights themselves. http://www.iinet.net.au/[email protected]/FerrariF355Spider/RightHandHeadlightMotorWiringSample.GIF
