My collection, since Issue #1, sits nicely on the shelf. But I never read any of them and only glance through the new ones when they arrive. So I've considered selling them all but every time I do it seems that several others are doing the same. What adds to the difficulty is the shipping weight (whole collection) and the diversity in prices. Understandably, some of the early issues do have higher values.

Any suggestions for a return on investment ( ;) )?

    Thanks

I think nobody has responded because the best suggestions sound too obvious:

It can be very difficult to sell entire magazine collections unless the package deal constitutes a substantial discount. I know; I've tried to sell off entire collections of Forza and Cavallino in the past. If the goal is to maximize return, then you have to sell them individually through a site like eBay. Of course, this is going to be extremely time consuming.

If you feel your time is too valuable, or if you lack patience and just want to liquidate the entire collection quickly, then list the whole thing at < 50% of the sum of individual values. Then, hopefully, someone who deals in back issues will buy the collection for resale.

If you want to sell the whole thing off quickly and get all the money, then I really have no advice for you.

Thanks Wayne. "Nobody cares" because it's just another Forza collection on an already flooded market. ;)

I was thinking $300 for the whole set. Shipping charges are unknown at this point but I was hoping that someone with recent experience on the same would add some insight.

Funny thing... yesterday, for the first time, I was able to use the collection as a resource, providing some technical information. Info that I was unable to find on the 'net.

Wade. I think $300 is a little light, but $1000 is toooooo much, maybe more like $500-600 for the set.

If you're determined to sell it, when sold it can be shipped parcel post Media Rate, which is pretty damn cheap, so freight is a little less of an issue.

Thanks Dave, very useful info. I have seen several listings for complete collections over $1000 and though it would never sell at that price.

I'll get a quote for parcel post media rate.

My opinion having also collected every issue is the subject matter. The emphasis seems to be on the current models and the other models let's say from the 1980s and on. You could also say Forza starts where Cavallino leaves off. I for one and many others here are more interested in the "vintage" era from 1946 up into the 1970s. Each issue of Forza usually has one article on one of the earlier cars which rarely tells us anything new.You don't see Marcel Massini or others of that group of experts in Forza. Also the" letters to the editor " in Forza are of a more recent era. I keep thinking I will cancel my subscription to Forza. Maybe I will. tonga's crew

I could be wrong, but I think periodicals are excluded from media rate due to advertising content. This happened to me once, trying to mail some magazines home rather than carrying them on the plane. It would be worth checking out before lugging a bunch of mags down to the PO.

I used to love that magazine. Unfortunately it's paper thin now and many of the images are poor quality. :(

I'd love to have a complete set. I'd post it for a good price and let the buyer worry about shipping. In my case, I'd pick it up next time I haul the family up there. ;) I'm sure there are many other local people or people willing to pay for shipping.

Well, it appears that I don't have #82 and #83 (end of 07 early 08). They were never forwarded when I moved across state. I did order replacements but I must have misplaced them.

So $450 as is until the set is complete. Shipping extra.

Honestly you are not going to retire on the price you get, It will just be spend on car wax. I would give them to the local Ferrari Dealer to sell and donate the money to something, like buying food for kids or coats, maybe toys. Those will mean more to those people than a million photos of a car.
    Just a thought.
    Best,
    John
