I believe the F12 VS powerplant will feature variable-length intake manifold?

The redline on LaF is 9k but it can momentarily run to 9250 rpm in situations like exiting a corner.

Yes, that seems to be the practice to avoid losing too much low speed torque in very high revving engines. In any event it is amazing that this big of an engine with 12 cyl will rev that high and still be drivable on the street. With all the hype around the V8 turbo it is good to see continued development of the V12 NA.

There is a very good chance this is the end of the line for the NA V12......

Another snippet. I have been advised very strongly that I have to order the front lifting mechanism if I want that expensive splitter etc to remain in one piece.

You can have the F12M in I suppose 2017 and the upgraded FF, but I am afraid that's your lot for n/a.

You are asking too much at this stage so you will have to be satisfied that you will find more accurate details about the VS on this website than literally anywhere else and that for a car still not released for a few months.

If the Aperta comes it is at least a year or more away, final run out, so no doubt members will have more info in the same sort of timescale. For now, anything else is pure unsubstantiated rumour.

I agree but if I was a betting man I would have a few quid on one appearing.

VS stands for Version Speciale. This is what they are referring to the car as right now, but they will announce a production name at a later point.

Always thought is is 'Very Special'. Like one step above 'Special'

They might even use SS soon, 'Super Special'

    Haha.

Anyone know of an allocation that can be had 😉. I called my dealer and he gave me the usual "wait and see" response. Which means no way.

Pure speculation by me: I think the time horizon is shorter than that. I'm not so sure we're going to see the upgraded FF with a NA motor. F12 replacement will be out in a few years and that will be a turbo motor. Given the FF was introduced about 2 years in front of the F12, that means we have about another 2 years or so of a NA FF.

Right. None of us really know. As far as FF timing is concerned, dealer thinks about 1 1/2 years away.

I may end up keeping all my F-Cars a long time. Not exactly suffering.

That is FOR SURE. The front splitter is gorgeous but you'll need the lifter. Also I suggest avoiding narrow parking lots!!!!

FWIW: I have never liked the F12, but this is really something.

Ferrari aren't going to let it be seen until....and that will be quite the surprise!!

I take it that a BTdF example with BF accents will be making it's way to Lausanne Peter?
