A new Top Gear was on tonight minus Jeremy. But they just showed some material that was already shot with Jeremy. . Of course there wasn't any mention of Jeremy not being there. .

I think the James and Richard are under some contractual obligation and are just doing it to meet the letter of the law. They both seamed liked they really did not want to be there in the studio.

They will be back, i think on Netflix but not before 2017 due to non compete agreement.

It has been speculated that the noncompete (if there really is one), might only apply to broadcast, not streaming. So far, the people who actually know aren't saying. I imagine the contracts were signed before anybody had a notion of how lucrative streaming of original programming would become.

The talk is that Clarkson's non-compete clause in his BBC contract only covers UK TV companies and his lawyers are convinced that he can make a Top Gear rivalling motoring programme using an American TV company, which can then be sold World-wide, including to UK channels.

If this is the case then he would not be limited to making a show for on-line streaming only.

The whole non-compete clause in the contract shows just how important Clarkson was to Top Gear, and how much the BBC feared him walking away and starting up a similar programme elsewhere.

It seems that fate has decided that their worst fears concerning Clarkson may well come true!

Top Gear with any of the three is not back, and it was not a new TG - it was the last episode with Jezza, Hammond and May. It was just an episode the two made to show the films planned for the last episodes of series 22.

    The elephant symbolized Clarkson.

From what I've been reading in the British press it's looking more and more like a Netflix or similar deal is in the works. Even though the carrier is likely to be American, I would think the program would continue to be based in the UK. TG without the British gestalt wouldn't be TG.

I'm pretty certain that the Lamborghini is a RHD press car on loan from Lamborghini and does not belong to him.

(If it's the car I think it is, it's on Italian registration plates which in the UK, Clakson would not be able to own and drive it on as there is a Law in the UK that stipulates that UK driving licence holders cannot own and drive a car on foreign plates - They have to have a UK registration number assigned to them. You can own and drive a car for a short time on foreign "export" plates, but to remain legal you have to get a UK registration number)
