Huge show. Amazing actually. My first time there and we had media passes. The size of the show was notable. The quality and size of the blue chip displays were impressive. The selling was seemingly robust but the actual traffic was not as high as vendors had hoped. Vegas will be more crowded I suspect.

Spent a good bit of time with rocky and aman patel...great guys. Also spent a good bit of time with a j Fernandez...Also a great guy. Becoming a big fan of a j and rocky is a polished gentleman. Most memorable was my time chatting with Hamlet and discussing his history as a roller and blender in Cuba for over 20 years. He told me how rocky did so much to get him to the United states. Amazing talent and story.

I was amazed at all the new boutique brands. Of those I was impressed with Cesar Espinal.

The women...you font need to just love cigars...The women were exceptional. The new brand rep for prohibition was hot hot hot. The cigar diva was hot too. Thanks to Lincoln for his hospitality at the cigar and spirits booth.

So much more to tell. Came home over 200 cigars. Most were real high quality!!

Message: the cigar industry is dynamic and full of amazing people!!!!

That is Abe Flores of PDR Cigars place. They took amazing care of us.

And you are right, the industry is filled with amazing, warm and generous people. And beautiful women.

So glad to hear you enjoyed it. A lot of exhibitors expressed concern with foot traffic - especially Monday and Tuesday, Vegas seems to be the much more popular locale. Excited for next year already!

Don't doubt it just for some reason RP doesn't do well with me. I've had probabaly 5-8 sticks from him and none really stood out.

smoking the new pedron now...what a huge departure from the pedron's we all know and love. I will say that it is delicious w/ coffee and a nice morning smoke. I'm sure this will be the type of cigar that could win over a macanudo faithful and bring them into the pedron camp. nice cigar for the morning but I like something a bit more robust once the day moves on:)

    Casa cuba next:)

That Padron Damaso is a shot across the bow of Davidoff. Or it's a giant middle finger to Davidoff.

Davidoff goes to all the farms Padron buys from in Nicaragua and tries to buy out the tobacco for their Davidoff Nicaraguan a couple years ago. So Padron had to up their prices a bit and now says we can make a $18 Connecticut just to **** with them.

I'll take those bedside manners any day.... "Here's a box of Cohibas and by the way you're getting a colonoscopy..."

All joking aside , I hope your procedure is nothing more than preventative maintenance .... Good luck.

Yes , it is and thank you . I'm on the every 5 year plan. I don't mind the procedure but the prep blows . I'm thinking I might walk in to the procedure with a lit Cohiba hanging out of my mouth. That would be balls savvy. :D

Just got a variety of Cubans and DRs at my local cigar shop. Even though the walk in humidor says it's at the right level the cigars seem just a tad dry; they feel and smell ok but burn just a little too fast. Anyone else seen this with large humidors?

If they just arrived the cigars may need a couple of weeks to a month to properly acclimate and get rehumidified. The shops hygrometer could also need to be calibrated. And it's also possible they don't have enough air circulation and have zones of dry or wet in their walk in.
