I saw the price and options list. It is entitled F12 Limited Edition - however there are two GTO liveries offered - and also referred to as such. However, I have also been told that the car will be called Passo Corto, as a throwback to the 250 series, and also the virtual shortening of the wheelbase through RWS. Further, the treatment of the rear side window also harks back to some versions of the 250SWB. I find it interesting that this does indeed leave room for a GTO version should Ferrari choose to offer it in the future. The options themselves are not surprising, almost the same as for the Speciale. One thing of note is the carbon fiber option for the air filter housing, in addition to the other usual CF options. The factory allocations are NOT finalized - there might still be some room - and that is what I am hoping for. I hope is helps, with best regards, W
Passo Corto? Sorry I don't believe Ferrari have totally lost their marbles and are now referencing a Hyundai concept car. La Ferrari was bad but it grows, Passo Corto is effectively SWB and whilst SWB links directly to their heritage, all but the most earnest afficianados would scratch their heads at PC. However, I did hear that SWB was the latest favourite so maybe PC, but if so what a disappointment, at least in name terms. Assuming it is not a GTO, there won't be a GTO as what more could you do to this car to make it quicker or more extreme-there is no further room for development. Thanks for the update however Just noticed that the latest pics posted show the shortened rear window
All consistent with what I have heard. It may be a bit of a reach for some, but why not reach back to the 50s! I get the spirit they are trying to evoke though.
Forgive me if I repeat things, probably already repeated... the car is ready . If I remember correctly the GTO was presented in April at the Accademia di Modena . Is it possible that the new F12 is presented at an event outside the International Auto Show? Maybe in a few days?
For sure, not in a few days. Aside from anything else in a few days we are in August and in Italy absolutely zero happens in Italy, certainly not such a launch.
i'm italian you're right.. august. i hate this months.. mine was only a meager hope to see as soon as the new car , as the 488 spider left me with the desire .. nothing special . For f12 VS I have much hope , very promising
Some pics of the red one that was already in a Youtube movie. The only distinctive between a "normal" F12 is the rear. Another small item is the slightly longer cover of the air vents on the side. For the time of introduction. It is pure speculation but the fact that it drives around indicates it won't take very long. Somewhere September would be my guess. Two years ago my son spotted the Speciale just days before it's introduction. Posting the pics is part of the game. I always like to look at other enthousiast contributions as well. Can't wait to see what Ferrari does on the price. Given the current hysteria about so called limited editions, they should at least double the price bs the standard f12 and enjoy the profits. No point leaving cash which is obviously on the table.
It can only help the values of F12s. Build a super exotic limited edition F12 that looks almost like an F12...get the automotive world buzzing...charge $900K. All is good. I'll enjoy my boring, slow, 740hp $450K F12.
Wishful thinking. Look at 599 GTB values and compare with 599 GTO and you will have an idea of where F12 values are going. Not knocking the F12 as a car, its simply the way the market seems to work.
+1 I agree that when the new car comes out it won't help the F12 values. If production numbers are high--I think it will actually hurt values. Here is the basis for my view: 1. If production numbers of the new "GTO" (or whatever they name it) are high, more F12s will be offered as some owners will choose to trade up to the "latest and greatest" front engine v12. 2. This effect may be more than usual given the great price performance of other limited addition Ferrari models like the CS, GTO, 16M, Scud, Aperta, and maybe even SAperta. 3. There are over 60 F12s for sale on autotrader.com. Many of those have not moved for quite a while. 4. Finally, the recent rise in GTO prices had zero impact on the GTB price trajectory from what I can tell. Also, I agree the F12 is a great car. Just not an investment car at this stage/price--however with a modest fall in price it could be very attractive.
Thanks. Great pics. Per the config pics posted earlier there's definitely something happening around the rear quarterlight window. Very 250 GTO/SWB. It's going to be far more visually dramatic than the regular F12. Given its competitive set, it needs to be. But what colour?
I think I will go for a blue color, but which one... Blue TdF, blue America, blue Pozzi? My dealer indicated that I may go for the Private preview sometimes in September.
Yeah, I was just out attacking some twisties this morning, listening to that V12 and feeling sorry for myself.
