Today I picked my car up from the paint shop. I drove my friends 98 Berlinetta there and did a swap for my car as his was going in for paint work too. So it was a nice day to experience the two back to back.

Really happy with how it has come out, now its time to get stuck into paint correction. I will do a full detail which I have done previously on my 360 Spider which I documented here:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tvAfrEyilJU

The remains of the very old aftermarket alarm system removed. I replaced the wheel housing guard with a new OEM piece as the alarm siren was mounted to the panel in a typical hack job.

This should hopefully solve my battery drain issue. After 7 days of sitting the battery would die. I may still need to install a new battery, however it should be able to last a 7 day period without a trickle. I drive it weekly.

Got stuck into removing the test pipes today. As usual things crop up and slow you down.

I removed the bypass valve only to discover it was missing both metal o-rings to seal the joint between Y pipe, and muffler.

Seeing as I don't have any spares I will temporarily use Maniseal exhaust cement to seal it up, and replace with new o-rings soon. The bypass has been painted on the valve and looks horrible, I will remove paint and clean it up.

The test pipes came out without too much fuss, all new hardware and donut gaskets will be used. I look forward to sorting out the exhaust leak at the bypass and to hear the sound with Tubi evolution exhaust and OEM catalyst.

Only a matter of time before he will have to fit one.

They are pretty strict here in Australia in regards to having front number plates fitted to cars.

Correct Pap. I mount the plates with Velcro. I just left the paint to cure more before applying the tape. It now has front plates on and cats are fitted. Took it for a nice drive today and it is just right now.

In following up from the change to factory catalytic converters, the sound is a few decibels quieter at idle but still considerably louder than factory setup (comparing to my friends stock 98 B).

The big improvement is in reduced drone during cruising and a more pronounced bypass changeover sound which is what I was after. So I'm happy with the switch to cats from test pipes. There is no noticeable performance difference if anything the car feels smoother down low.

Here is a quick video of the epic sound of the car with Tubi Evolution and factory cats under an overpass: http://youtu.be/QkhWz0H6iOo
    I love the sound!!

Floor mats arrived from more than polish today. I went for a simple design, and chose black as the tan is just too hard to keep looking presentable. These should look great once fitted.

    Sounds awesome!

Black floor mats are the go man, the tan ones get too dirty.

I have tan floor carpet in mine with black mats and it looks good.

Your engine temperature looks too low in that video.. Could be gauge or could be real. Check engine temp with an OBD scanner and compare to gauge.

Took the car out for a drive today, temp gauge sits on 90 in traffic and drops below that on open cruise. Its winter in Australia and has been quite cold here, the oil temps takes an age to get any sort of decent temperature.

That as true of the plain rubber fuel filler necks on the 3*8 cars but these on the 355 I have yet to hear someone have that problem.

Black floor mats look great in a tan car. Let's face it, floor mats get dirty. The last thing you want is tan floor mats.
