599s were depreciating before the 599 GTO and way before the F12 came out. If you want to blame anything on the 599 depreciation you could say the financial collapse was a big factor and is not likely to repeat- but I suspect 7-8 years into the F12 you will see a similar curve. It's just how it goes.

As to styling, thats up to debate.

I love the 599 and I think the F12 is magnificent. I think this new car looks stunning and I wish congratulations upon the fortunate new owners.

I'm looking forward to seeing more pictures! That cleared up image looks fantastic! I'd love to see higher resolution too. I love the historic references. Ferrari does that on all their cars- its one of the things that makes their cars special.

Agreed on the wheels...nothing special there. Not sure about that stripe, although the 360, 430, and 458 had an optional "stripe" on the rear. Looked decent on those cars. I'm not digging the exhaust "boxes" surround, but I'll reserve judgement until I see in person

The boxes appear to be a further aero refinement with also some consideration for the heat around the exhaust outlets. Also the individual 'boxes' are a light-weight solution compared to the rear bumper design as shown on the P540 here for comparison.

Agree that the 599 was depreciating before both the F12 and GTO. However, I am speaking to the current trend as I believe you were/are speaking to as well. The current 599 GTB prices are being hurt by the F12 and bear no correlation to the rise in GTO prices. I believe its the new models that hurt older models not the very limited editions. The other prior limited F12 editions did not hurt the F12.

Car looks incredible and thank you for posting this! Alas, as like the 599 GTO, I will only be looking at pictures and not behind the wheel of the real deal!!

The angled black carbon trim on the front fender reminds me of another car. The pictured Daytona spyder that has a similar angle trim treatment in blue on the front fender of this much older model...

Its looking better already with the high res. This would look pretty sweet in verde racing with some livery and some dark brown interior. I can see how it will be an instant classic.

Like all classics, this will establish its own personality as right now everyone will be comparing it to what has come before.

Based on this one picture, in an unflattering colour, I am not liking this too much.

The details seem overly fussy to me, the exposed carbon doesn't quite work to my eyes but and its a big but this may look stunning in another colour. IMHO yellow doesn't flatter the modern V12 cars at all.

I am somewhat mystified by the current trend of showing new models in any colour but Rosso Corsa, the 458 SA, again in yellow, the 488 spider in blue and now this in yellow.

This car in TdF with a cuoio alcantara interior and technical fabric in nero with a nero four-point-racing-seatbelt should be a true dream.

...because when you think Ferrari you see red. So every new car comes in any color except rosso...except hypercar as LaFerrari because are red by definition.
Then sometimes it happens that propose a new car in red, but it is always a special red...rosso fiorano, rosso maranello, rosso barchetta, rosso rubino.....

When the 550 Maranello was released most people thought it was a puffed up Toyota Supra.
I'm optimistic that in the flesh, with performance known and in certain colours, this new Ferrari will be an absolute stunner.

I admire the way Lambo's attention strategy is to hit you in the face with a concrete block, but I'm sold on the way Ferrari makes me work for it. Looking forward to the coming weeks.

Somehow only Rosso Dino pulls on me, other shades of red are to common in my book. Love to have Rosso Dino, or a grigio tint.

Mods-can you amalgamate with main thread as becoming very repetitive.

like the 991 GT3 RS, bright colors don't go well with all the black vents/aero parts, it creates too many color contrasts, which make the car look fussy. I think the rear will look nice once we can see the the new design of the rear diffuser.

One picture doesn't do the car justice and I can understand the mixed feelings some my have based on this one picture but overall this will look stunning. Darker colors will suit this car really well hence why GF (basically the config by 599 HGTE had) or Blu Pozzi are ranked at the top of my list for this one.

    Interesting times up ahead.

    Cheers,

    M

In yellow with the black/carbon accents, it sure looks like a Corvette.

Glad that we agree on my current top two choices!

Interesting how I was advised by my dealer who has seen the car, that you reallywanted a light bright colour to show off the detail. I see it totally differently now and blending is what is required. GF and Carbon will blend and any of the darker colours will smooth out the detail. Bright colours as in their planned launch colours, on this showing, leave me cold. And I understand another launch colour is a bright blue? Sounds horrid.

Thanks Monteman for breaking this pic-anything more that you hinted at?

Bear in mind, the one man who we know has taste in cars and colours is Peter M with his TDF and BF collection and he has obviously seen and specced the car, is not an F12 lover and yet says this car in the flesh is truly something extraordinary, so I think we need more pics and time to digest.

Is it possible to spec the car without the CF rear panel?

Are the tyres Pirelli Trofeo R? If they are then this will not be a wet weather car... Not that it was ever intended to be...

I find the F12 very pleasing aesthetically. This "GTO" version though is way too busy at the rear end. The overly curved panels with those slits are so 1960s! Ditto for the stuby rear bumber treatment. Of course in the metal it might look better, I am not trying to bash the thing after all. Other than that, I believe that it will be an epic Ferrari, second only to the LaFerrari.
