Yes but it's easy to damage the original shields when you take them off. Tell your dealer to remove with care! I have black shields on my F12.

I thought the lightweight windshield is standard? I believe it is one of the weight reductions from the standard 458 - could be wrong!

my dealer called me today. Turns out my speciale which was MAY production!! will not arrive before september because the factory shuts down in august is this true? what a fking joke they have been telling me next week, next week, since forever...

What are my rights as a buyer now? surely i should get some major compensation!

Welcome to the "Alice in Wonderland" world of Ferrari :) Nothing is ever black or white in Ferrari Land. Everything is shades of gray.

Side note. My Speciale water temperature seems to run hotter than other Speciales (typically 210-225F just cruising around town). I asked my dealer if this temperature was "normal". He didn't know for sure. He "guessed" it was. I insisted that he check with Ferrari and get an official answer. It took him several weeks to get an official answer from Ferrari. Here is the official answer:

"There is no documentation as to what the engine temp should be."

Ferrari is the only company on earth that can get away with crap like this. LOL

its frustrating. But they get away with things like this, because there is no consequences it doesnt not hurt their business in any way so why should they care

I doubt it. If it was May production you should be getting it soon, because they ship fairly fast after coming from the line, and your dealer should see it in the system.
As far as compensation is concerned, that is your typical US reaction. Maybe you can sue them (and buy used Ferraris in the future)? Or grow a pair, suck it up and be patient.

My Speciale was May production too and it's stuck at the factory at status 60 (probably until September). I'll be lucky if I see it in October but more likely November.

Btw, you haven't paid for the car yet, right? So technically you're not (yet) the owner. You have No rights.

Perhaps you should look at the pic a little more closely. Ironically, I selected the radio delete and they would not honor it, being a late US car and all...but they apparently removed the front windshield without me even asking!

Perhaps they wait to resolve the airbag recall before they ship. I would not ship a car with a known issue and risk litigation. As far as I am told by my dealer the parts are not available yet. Speculation of course.

Hahaha, and your airbag deployed. That car is a total mess. Lots of weight savings.

Thanks Philippe. The pictures you posted of your Speciale were "tres bon" :) I've taken numerous pictures of my Speciale, but I just don't have a talent for composing good pictures.

Thanks for the temperature data points. My Speciale seems to run a bit hotter than yours, but not too bad.
