I do, but after flying it for two months and putting 100hrs on it or so I'm beginning to realize I need something more nimble and faster... Like an Extra 300/L... Just need the money for it. :(

Nah it was in Idaho.... everything in the video seems so slow compared to when you are doing it. Believe me it feels much faster flying a plane with 130' wingspan at 250 knots through the mountains.

Nah it was a smaller river up there, the snake would have been cool.

As in first solo ever? If so, congrats! Time for a selfie on a first solo is impressive. What AC type? Can't fit the wing shape with something I know.

Not a pic, but a really quick video of my landing in Catalina today. Only 1 min long, so not too boring. Anyways, I've flown around the island (rather low) before, but have never landed the Eagle there. It's a bit narrow, and short, among other things. One being it has a dropoff on both sides. Another being it's uphill. Anyways, not a greaser by any means. Had to sideslip to see the runway. Then had to work the rudder to keep it going straight. Lots of potholes too. It's a good thing I can't see where I'm going!

Interesting - my only helicopter ride was a 20 minute tour of downtown Miami in a Bell 47 - in 1969!

Good video, Lou. Those tail draggers will go after you every time, won't they? I knew a great 747 pilot, years gone who said that he flew big nose draggers for a living and little tail draggers for fun. I know several guys who are doing the same thing and I feel that it makes them better pilots.

Congratulations! You look a lot more relaxed than I felt on my first solo.

Thanks! Diamond DA40 and yes 39N. Embarrassing number of hours accumulated presolo hence the apparent relaxed look perhaps

Isn't there a pic in the terminal of a Falcon Jet on the ramp? I think the perception of shortness is the hump in the middle of the runway so when very low, e.g. flare or getting ready to TO, you only see half the runway.
