I am in the market for a Speciale, but noticed that they are going for between $30K and $70K above sticker. I am not desperate to get my hands on one immediately, so I can wait. The question is should I pay above sticker or wait until prices come down a bit once the 488's are in season.
This is the lowest priced one I've seen in quite a while. Granted, it's got over 6k miles, but really not too bad. If you're serious, you should hop on it. I'll bet it won't last long... Ferrari 458 Certified | eBay
It is the 6500 miles that makes the price difference. This is the highest mileage Speciale I have seen for sale.
Its a press car. Not that that should keep anyone from buying the car. But I suspect that's why it hasn't moved even at sticker. In its favor, its one of less than a handful of cars with a radio delete in the US. Look at those speakerless doors -- so much better!
Spec's are so unique that they will be held onto as a general rule so when you find something thats close to the right one jump on it!
Six months ago I was offered a Speciale from the Ferrari driving school. It was a launch spec car that had around 4k miles. It was offered to me back then at $10k below sticker. It had new brakes and tires, and recent service. I passed on it.
Aaannndddd that's what's precisely wrong with owning a Ferrari...u get dinged for DRIVING YOUR CAR! Ultimate STUPID!
Don't you think it would be a bit different if it weren't a DEMO car that has been flogged by countless journalists, test drivers, etc? When I turned down the Speciale that had previously been used 100% on the track for the driving school, that's what turned me away... Had it been a one-owner car with street miles, I'd have hopped all over it...
Strange that the label looks tacked on but I have seen that on another Speciale in Roso Fuoco. The car was brand new and just delivered so there was no accident issues.
Better wait for the first batch delivery of 488 done first. There are many Speciale around, way more than Scuderia. All you need is patience.
I will be offering mine for sale , black, 800 miles, alcantara and leather seats, 75k over msrp PM if interested.
Hmmm I wouldn't want a press car which has had at least 50 people try and ruin the gearbox and been hammered around a track
There is a big difference between buying a Speciale and finding one that really pops out at you and you just love based on color, strip etc. When I bought mine I never would have thought I would pay that much for one since many of them did not really jump out at me. When I saw the one I bought I did not even hesitate to pull the trigger. Even my wife loved it!. So my advise is to look for a Speciale, if you see one that you love and can't take your eyes off of, BUY It NOW and KEEP IT. Image Unavailable, Please Login
There are several speciales for sale at dealers that are not listed online. I've heard that Ferrari has some policy where they don't like dealers listing these cars used in the first year just to keep prices/demand up. I'm guessing by this time next year, you'll see quite a few more for sale and prices softening a bit too.
I tend to agree with you.... I only bought mine because of the color/spec... I loved it (does not mean anybody else does but I did).... I think yours also looks really great. Enjoy it, and good advice.
for some reason I am having an issue posting pics send me a pm with your contact info if you want me to contact you with the info.... will try again later to post pics
Ive been in the market for a Speciale for some time. Like some have posted already Im waiting for the right specs, yellow, black stripes and 4 point belts. I look every day in EU if one comes on the market and I fail to find one as of yet. What I have noticed here in EU is, prices of Speciale's are going all over the places. The ones that have been on the market for some time( like two months ) the prices are not dropping. But the most interesting thing is, in the last two weeks that amount of them coming up for sale has almost tripled in volume( I think they are jumping ships to the 488 ). But a lot of those new ones in the last two weeks, their prices are a lot more expensive then the ones that are currently on the market, bar a few cheaper ones.
Nice black one, 800 miles. I keep looking at the Speciale but still can't seem to justify another $180k after trading in my 458 I bought in June for $260k http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ferrari-458-speciale-/301711803425?forcerrptr=true&hash=item463f6cc421&item=301711803425
