Hi guys I am new to the Ferrari world and just bought a 348, I must say that I am pleased to find so many of the brotherhood spin their own spanners as I am sure I am going to need a bit of advise with this one.

Its a 1991 car with 50K that I bought at auction with no history or province, so far I can say the engine runs but the AC does not.

As you can see it already has been modified, a lot of the challenge kit is fitted
The back of the Cage (mounts exist for the front part)
    The harness mounts
The original chrome OMP halon extinguisher
    Towing eyes

And of course you cannot miss the horrible bucket seats.

As far as i can tell it spent some time in Japan as there is some Japanese stickers on the visor.

    So my questions are

    1) Is there any way to check the history via the chassis number.
    2) Does a 355 ac bracket and compressor bolt up as the originals are AWOL

    Thanks

    Jason

A little love and care, and she'll be just fine.

    Congratulations!

Yes, the A/C just bolts on... however; I'm not 100% certain you can do that with the engine in place. It's pretty tight in there.

Congratulations! Interesting that someone put round lights behind the grill.

    Welcome to The 348 Brotherhood.

This thread explains how to read the VIN http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/technical-q-sponsored-algar-ferrari/318113-how-read-ferrari-vin-vehicle-identification-number.html As for the actual history the last country it was registered in my have a record of ownership, and possible dealership service records???

The 348 has the a/c compressor on the right side of the engine, and the 355 has it on the left side. So I am not sure it will work.

Congrats. I loving seeing some of the mods done in Japan. Especially like to rear lights.

I thought the same thing. I've never seem the tail lights done like that before. Going to round lights but keeping the grill.
