Because there is 'NO' sound you can talk about with regards to a Turbo S.. I have a Turbo S Cab and even with he top down the car sounds like nothing - when you do hear sound it is like a vacuum cleaner... Anything would sound better than my near perfect driving machine 911 Turbo S
Looks better in black, helps slim the car's waist down. Pretty sure it will be like the 458, though, black, CF or body colour (for you guys who like the 'larger' lady )
@ Milanno Very cool and thanks. Can you edit the rims in black and the color of the 488 to the grey of this 458 Speciale ? Ferrari 458 Speciale - 23 Mrz 2014 - Autogespot
White with black roof is ultimate 458/488 combo to me. Stunning The side air blade looks like will take a beating in white though
I also drive a new 911 Turbo S with GMG race exhaust, which I happen to love, but it certainly doesn't sound anything like that. I can't wait to see it and hear it in the flesh this weekend!!!
Because the end design was done in house. PF may have contributed some elements, but is is not a PF design.
A debate would end something like this: "Excuse me, 488. I knew the GTO. I drove the GTO. The GTO was a friend of mine. 488 GTB --you're no GTO!"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z1vdvMWIY1E Think about it. This car could do 0-60 in 6 sec and could not clear the quarter in less than 13 sec. Pales by comparison to today's hyper road cars whose full power is all but useless on the road. As for the sound, the GTO sounds great yet its redline is "only" 7500. For a treat listen to the modern 6.3L V12 at full voice at 8500 RPM. Then take a ride in a TT.
+1. The GTO supports the notion that 0-60 times are not the end all of the driving experience. I feel that the 458 is amazing to drive each and every time I get behind the wheel. I get the same excitement that the raw visceral feel of a gate shifter 360 provides. All great cars in their own right. I'm sure the 488 GTB will be faster but will provide the WOW factor of these great cars. Can't wait to find out.
Yes, 0-100 or 0-200 numbers would be forgotten very soon. What stays are the history and passion. Nowadays, no matter how good is your number, in just few months, Beetle will release .2 and Mclaren will offer free upgrade, basically they add boost, and again they will run 0,1 second faster. It never ends.
Very true. Even Tesla is getting in on the act, having just provided an upgrade from Insane mode to Ludicrous mode. Next they will offer even more....and yet no passion (yes, I drive and ride in one a lot).
