Hallo friends , my gt4's sunroof bezel is broken ,i glued it , but not perfect. Our friend Ed Brown send me a perfect , aluminium , custom made, bezel. It is a perfect repro of original but not plastic made ,it is aluminium, sure very lasting. Thank you very much , Ed,your piece is fantastic. p.s. this piece can be painted and it will became exactely as original!
Lorenzo , gt4' sunroof have a a frame near the handle thath opens runroof. Only few gt 4 have sunroof (may be 200?)
I had the same problem. The piece is the same as Alfa used. (on the GTV I think) I found a new one on line for sixteen bucks. A lot of series twos came with sunroofs.
I was wondering if 200 was accurate, I would be curious to know how many there were. Probably near impossible to find out?
My '77 s2 has a sunroof. It seems that the later cars were more "loaded" than earlier cars, probably due to the sales competition from the GTB/S and the GT4 went more towards the luxury side of the market. The sunroof is a two edged sword. It is nice when open but you lose 2" of headroom and the interior light over the rear window. Also the drains (6 of them) can be a maintenance problem resulting in water on you head. The raise/lower mechanism is clever but not really adjustable, it either fits/works right or it doesn't. Replacement parts? Good luck with that. Maybe someday a sunroof will add $10K value, I am not holding my breath.
A lot, if not all, US S2s have the sun roof, leather and AC. So they do seem to have had value added in the face of weak sales.
Thanks Antonino! Delighted that the part worked for you. If anyone does need a GT4 sunroof bezel, please see my ad in Classifieds. Ed
hi everybody, the part you're talking about is a part used in old Opels like the Ascona C or Kadett C and Manta B the part number is Opel-part nr.: 191760 GM-part nr.: 90179220 here is a link to a german vendor. https://www.o-t-r.de/shop/ascona-manta-b/griffschale-schiebedach-hellgrau/ best jens
Hello to all! I was astounded to see this very similar part for sale, and will happily withdraw my ad. My apologies to my fellow F-chatters, and to Antonino, and I would ask you to NOT send payment to me, and consider the part you received as complementary. I had no idea this part existed, and spent a great deal of money having the part re-engineered. I'd have to admit it's not the biggest mistake I've made in the Ferrari world! My little box of parts will now go back to the top shelf of my garage, and my short career as a Ferrari parts purveyor is now over. I thought I was providing an unavailable part, certainly for less than my cost. Thanks to all for your understanding, and above all to you Antonino, who I now consider a friend. Ed
I wish to thank , very much ,our friend Ed, he send me the bezel (perfect ) i would pay it but he did not want payment an he payed shipping cost to Italy also ! He did a great gift to me ,and i think Ed is a true Gentleman, differently of some other people that sometimes are in this forum. Thank you very much Ed , best regards Ciao from Italy Antonino
Quick update on this old thread. I found a couple of online sources for what appear to be this part (these were not easy to find): https://www.midwest-bayless.com/p-22968-4420183-oe-sun-roof-sunroof-handle-surround-brown-fiat-131-brava-oe-nos.aspx http://www.fiatplus.com/BLUE-SUNROOF-HANDLE-TRIM.html For what it's worth I got scammed out of $100 last week after I inquired about Ed's aluminium sunroof bezel in the FerrariChat Classifieds archive thread. A rookie FerrarChat member – Userg – messaged me via the FerrariChat message system saying Ed still had them available and to contact him on an external email. I stupidly contacted them and transferred $100 via Zelle. BEWARE – Userg is a scammer. But also, be aware these thieves change their email addresses and usernames frequently. Don’t send money unless you are really sure who is on the other end. I have been trading online for years and have never been scammed, so I got complacent. I notified FerrariChat Admin but doubt there is much more I can do.
