Graeme, this may be one alternative. If not, still a good option for brake bleeder screw dust boots. Depending on your need for accuracy, maybe you can cut these down to match. Explore the site for more options, if memory serves there were several. And if my memory is wrong search for Brembo brake parts, you will find sites with more options including different OE rubber brake bleeder caps for reasonable prices. I've seen similar things in those little pull out parts trays at Sears and the big box home improvement stores. The McMaster crack house for hotrodders has these: http://www.mcmaster.com/#97697a731/=w8hcnr, http://www.mcmaster.com/#96306a351/=w8hcpp
Thanks guys, I am after accuracy I have some brake bleeder covers, they wouldnt stay on the screw, glued maybe I will keep looking. I am surprised they are not on other Ferraris. Call me a sadist I love detail and looking for this sort of detail is fun. I have found them cheaper at $15 but at that price I should be able to buy 50 Call it Ferrari tax I suppose.
Thanks for the tip I will give them a call tomorrow. I have also found and ordered some BMW caps to see if they are same after all lots of other part are BM.

HI Everyone, I am looking for fuel pump complete to be used as spare for my 550. I like to know if 456 and 550 have the same fuel pump complete. I see the part no are different, although the parts look the same. Appreciate if someone can enlighten me. Thanks
2 completely different types of pumps were used and they're not interchangeable. The 456's (and early 550's I think) used Bosch's older "roller cell" technology pumps. The later cars used a smaller turbine type pump. My '99 550 has the turbine style, FWIW. The turbine style is smaller in diameter, shorter, and has a quieter operation than the roller cell pump. The rubber cushions that fit around the pumps are different due to the different diameters, and the plumbing connections are different too. The turbine pump has a barbed nipple for it's pressure output, while the roller cell uses screwed metal fittings, and I think eventually a banjo with a barb on it.
Has anyone checked if the 550 Maranello Window regulators are the same as the 456? I don't have the 550 regs to compare, but initial observation indicates they are identical, aside from a limit switch on the 550 reg, that isn't used on the 456
The Parts book diagrams if they can be believed look very similar. The Key thing I have read about the issue with these is the pivot pin at the sizzor point is aluminum in the GT and apparently stainless in the M Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yes mate. That is exactly the issue with the regulator. I've heard many people say they are not installed correctly from the factory, or the mounting holes have been drilled incorrectly from manufacture. From what I can see in my car, the problem is definately the pin. But the front slider on the glass also gets loose. The runner can be adjusted to take out the play. The rear slide will not need adjusting. The slider on the regulator assy. as well is adjustable, and should be done when fitting the repaired ones. I havn't sent mine away to be repaired yet. They have to go to F1 Imports in Florida. I'm about to do the cam belt service and suspension, so while it is off the road, I'll send them away and get them sorted. As usual, I'll post pics and detailed instructions on my thread!
I will admit I would love to Investigate the issue as from my experience there are some very good engineering companies here who could even re engineers the pivot arrangement. There is a company who specializes in electric windows sunroofs etc Liverpool in Sydney called electric life.
Yes, we use electric life. I've spoken to them, but they have no experience with these regs and they said they wouldn't be confident of a proper repair. They also said I was better off sending them to the states. I took the regs down to our local specialists here in Bris for them to look at and they said the same thing. Both reckoned if the US mob know exactly what needs to be done, they are the ones to do it.
I have been told that the hood on the 550 in longer than the hood of a 575 and not the same, is this accurate?
