I'd love to hear your recommendations for a $5k men's watch. New or used - doesn't matter to me. I've enjoyed going through the various threads on fchat and like what I've seen as far as taste goes. TIA.

Is this an all-occasion watch? Rolex Submariner.

For $5k, I'd suggest you take the time and effort to find one that suits you.

For any price point, I suggest the same.

Don't crowd-source opinions on your personal style.

That's generally good advice, if I were asking for someone to make both the recommendation and the purchase. Luckily in this case, I'm simply asking for third-party opinions which adds to my research pile. So have no fear ;)

+1 and you won't loose money on it. Great resale watch as long as you don't beat the shizzle out of it.

If you like the style of Rolex, I can report on the excellent quality of the Oyster Perpetual. It's great. :)

    All the best,
    Andrew.

For $5K, a used Rolex is hard to beat IMO. :)

That's an interesting list. I agree that the grand seiko line is pretty impressive. If you get a chance it is worth seeing these in person. I have a grand seiko spring drive GMT and its been a great daily wear watch. Excellent craftmanship and an interesting movement. I also like the omega seamaster, which is a pretty classic dive watch.

Check out the Zenith line. The Chronomaster Open XXT or the Grand Class Open/
    Absolutely stunning watches!! My favorite!
And they can be had for 5k or a bit less (Pre-owned)
