Have people taken leave of their senses? The current Ferrari Market Letter just arrived. It lists a 308GT4 at $150,000. (only GT4 listing) and a 328GTB at $170,000. (only 328GTB listing) while a '95 F355 berlinetta - rosso corsa/tan - and belt service with valve guides re-done Dec 2013 is $89,900. and eight 360 Modenas are offered at under $100K.

Yeah I wondered how my 360 is worth less than a 308. I'm at a loss.

Production numbers. There are very few really nice 308s in the world, and they don't hit the market often. There's a LOT of 360s with low miles in good condition.

I would take a 360 over a 308 any day (ignoring "current value"). And I am/was a huge fan of the 308 growing up...

I can hardly wait to see what the 348s do. I've been telling people for a while now that they better buy a 348 before people wise up to the fact it's a great Ferrari. If you have been looking for a 348 better buy one now, because the sale is over.

It will be justified by many... despite no real change in the market or supply from 6 years ago.

    I agree with you 100%.

I've been shopping for a 348 just for this reason.

When people start asking people start getting. When one guy is an outlier he is crazy. TR's were 50-60k about 6 months ago. Several are listed at $125K. As more ask the big numbers some cars will start to move and a new market established. Get your friends together and start listing those cars and see what happens.

Carb'd 308s have taken a big leap but it's hard to lump the gt4 in there with them. The market for the gt4 is smaller (most folks don't know what it is, but more do now than when I got mine) but they didn't make that many of them-and def didn't import that many into NA. You'll get some mint cars that are available-like this one (and the 'b' 328 also) and a lot of other folks holding onto their cars. I can't speak for the whole second group but if I sold I don't know what the hell I'd buy-but I can't complain about the hockey stick in prices

As for the carb'd 308s, my thinking is those cars just got a bunch more eyeballs with more boomers ready to pull the trigger, better Econ conditions, etc. The other piece is whether it's a 308, gt4 or 328 these are easy to work on, low maintenance and they are surprising reliable. If you like the 3x8 engine, get a Mondial-save a bunch of $$ and drive it like you stole it

The TR market now is surprising-but that is a lot of car for 50-60k!!

In the UK over the last three years, RHD 348's have gone from being £18K~£23K ($28K~$36K) cars (with loads for sale every week!), to £50K~£65K ($78K~$101K) cars (and are in very short supply as very few are now for sale).

    I bought My 1990 348 TS last May for £33K ($55.5K), and today it's worth £55K~£60K ($86K~$94K).

The dealership where I bought it from have already been in touch with a buyer wanting to purchase it for a healthy amount more than I paid for it, but I turned them down as I'm still enjoying it far too much to sell it.

(The salesman from the dealership did say that I'd jumped onboard the 348 ownership train just in time, and to be fair, if I'd waited a year longer as I was originally planning on then it wouldn't have happened at all as they would be out of My price range).

As the UK market continues to climb though, the harder it becomes to resist the temptation to cash in (and then wait for the market to drop again to buy another car later on with additional money in the bank).

............well I agree a 360 is a good car, but a foot wider, a foot longer, 4" higher, black boxes, and a longer wheelbase of 12" than a 308. On a mountain road, like Highway 74 out of Palm Desert, a 360 would never beat me to the top. Two different cars. I like them both, and they are Ferrari's. :) By the way a total of 6,272 carb 308's where made, and 17,800 or so 360's. Like I said, two different cars. :)

That's because I sold two of them last winter, finally "giving up, on waiting" for the 308 Train to leave The Station.

the people here are the only ones to know what I lost, $$$$....the family is celebrating me "getting rid of those extra Ferraris!"

    Idiots....

A late 328GTB has been at 150 -170K for the past nine months, Seth.
    Perfrect ones.
A lot of them got put away as Enzo died, we know that..they have really just moved up from $80 -90K.

The high water line on the GT4 is the refurbished ones from Florida, it's an "as new car"....I highly doubt the ones "on the road" are breaking any where NEAR that number..

    How you doing?
    Are you out there???

The 360s are now HUGE value, I have seen a spider with daytonas at $85K fresh service, low miles, nice aftermarket wheels.. and there's the beautiful yellow sunroof coupe in our ads for $90K.

If my banker would pry open his wallet, I would be waving at you from one of those!!

348 will indded have it's day, it's a nice car.

It somewahtkmatches the TR in styling and I think that will be key.
The Tr is on the move...

The folks that own 355s swear by them too, but they have to keep about $20K in a jar, in case the engine sours next week....

It took me a long time to warm to them the styling.

It's chalk and cheese to the 308, of course.

And I guess I am suffering from "308 Fatigue" and the expense of maintaining multiple examples.

Rifledriver reached Austin as I sank beneath the waves!!
I kept the yellow one so I guess I am hedged in the market.

If you beat a 360 up the hill, it would have to be because you are a better driver. 308s ain't got no power.

Early injected 308s are dogs. Anyone paying big money for these cars are foolish. Stick with Carbs or QV.

I used to own an '87 328 - great visceral cars, but a 360 would run circles around them.

I agree the market is nuts. People covet too damn much. Enjoy the cars, sell it to someone else to enjoy, and move on. Stop being so damn greedy.

You know, I am sitting here chatting with strangers about it, watching the auction results..and THIS is true!

I kept one, I am out shopping, and life is short..

the Fchatter that got one of my cars is having a ball restoring it, and his equity will be safe against value.

That's one thing I NEVER had in all of my maintenance $$$$.
But it was miles of smiles!!!
