    Wait and see, but if all you want is to see this car, then don't bother going to Frankfurt.....
    And it will be before Geneva....

    The reactions are pretty funny. You can see the "WOAH, a LaFerrari... wait, is that a woman driving???" thought process written on folks' faces.

    They were cagey about the announcement timing. They did say that production will run for ~18 months beginning early next year.

    18 month production run is an interesting detail that implies all will be 2017 MY cars or not? Would they still build 2016 MY cars half way through calendar 2017???
    Current new model year cars ie. 2016 seem to start mostly after the summer holiday with just a few earlier builds.
    Are there new standards for different government regulations the Competizione would not meet if they were called 2017 MY cars?

    Fair point, but 18 months is a long production run, and while only speculation at this point, the number made could be 800 which in real life means around 1000. It's limited if they say it's limited. As far as I'm concerned, they can make the car for as long as they need to so I may get one. And even then it's tenuous at best.

    12 month production until F12 m arrives, turbo and all. It will be around 800 cars just like 599 GTO ( oh.. count them.. ) All F cars are at the stage of, god they need no more power. We are reaching human limits so the real factor will be emotional engagement. The future.... well you decide what you want

    Do you know for a fact that the F12 replacement will be turbo?

    As far as human limits and power goes. That was what people said 50 years go too.
    Race cars are so much faster in every way, and they are drive-able. It's not so much a question of human limits, as it is a question of evolution. We as drivers evolve with the cars and their abilities. Tyres are getting better, steering is getting better, brakes are getting better and so on, and over time we adjust to this. At least, that's how I look at it.

    But I would surely like it, if Ferrari stopped the horsepower race for a second, and focused on size and weight.

    Then you end up with a Lotus. Ferraris have always been about power and big numbers. Enzo himself used to say that aero and chassis development is for people who can't build powerful engines.





    As for the F12 replacement, everything indicates that it will be N/A.

    True, but one can't deny that the cars have gotten bigger and heavier over the years - some would say bloated... I'm not talking Lotus-like cars, there is a balance. I think it was great to see that the F12 got smaller than the 599, and I like the idea of the F12 VS being quite a bit lighter than the F12. But wouldn't it being a nice thing if Ferrari started to look into lighter carbon chassis constructions for some lighter cars?

    it would be fantastic if Ferrari decide to pass to carbon fibre chassis, making lighter cars, mantaining adequate powers and finally teaching Mclaren to stop doing always a car with 5 HP more of the last ferrari like a nervous selfish child that screams out for competition.
    What I want to see is Carbon chassis, rear wheel driving, aerobrakes, more downforce even by spoilers and wings, custom optimized tires for destroying nurburgring competitors, except for koenigsegg and other hypercars, and finally a special AWD model to discover what is the 0-100 limit that they could reach today in a road car, I'm tired of the 918 being so much faster in 0-100 and nurburgring.. just my silly desires :)

    I would venture that they are there to extract air from the wheel arches, thus reducing pressure and lift.
