Any update on where the LeMans winning 956 went?

I hope to Porsche's museum or a collector that would actually take it to a track. I hope it doesn't become yet another static display in a private car mausoleum.

RM have published their results and three of the Ferraris initially shown as not sold (the Boano, Lusso and 330GTS) are listed as confidential.

Assume this to mean they sold post auction?

What do you mean no where to go in a 959? Do you mean you cant use it? If so i would disagree the car is so well made you could commute in it daily if you wanted to , and in comfort

Yes, crap that they didn't give the sales price. I would further your assume and assume that the sales price is confidential because it was below estimate...... We will never know.

The dilemma with a car such as this is that it would only take one major racing incident to destroy the provenance. And to be frank there are an awful lot of appalling drivers out there in a March or Lola or whatever from the period that just want to win and will make some racing manouvres that will cause the destruction of that history to be likely. Maybe parade laps at 80% speed would be a good compromise but any future use will be just that, a compromise which is a pity but is reality. After all right or wrong the Mona Lisa and most major works of art just sit there..............

    What does everyone else think?

Last year Rick Cole took nearly 3 weeks to negotiate post block sales on their 412S ($22.1 million) and 250 SWB ($10 million approx) and this year will be no different. Their system is highly confusing because many are sold on a first to reserve basis and they use a different system of declaring sold/ not sold et al. Some of the cars declared as no sales will be sold i am sure, will be interesting to see the final results, when they finally get released.

Driver was very nice and very informative. It used to belong to a guy named Moss. He encouraged me to take pics with my kids. I guess I will keep my son a MJ's BB camp . Then maybe he can buy one.

The guy seemed COMPLETELY disinterested, like he didn't even want to be there. He bought car after car like he was picking up donuts in a bakery. Yeah, just give me an assortment, whatever.
