That tool kit looks nice and snug in there Iain.

Was the aerial cover a standard item?

The aerial cover is something I had made out of spare Dino vinyl Tony. It's similar to the one in the 308 but has Velcro to fasten it instead of snaps.

Is there also leather strap for the tool set in the early type 246 "L" series cars? Moreover, if there is, where is it then attached to the car?
The reason for the last question is that I have found 2 ea 5 mm flat head slotted screws in the drivers side rear glass fiber inner fender (LHD). The screws looks very original so I suspect they have been there since the car was new.

    Best regards Peter

Yes! These low profile slot screws you found attach it. Henk has the strap.

That information is very appreciated Andrew! I am glad that I saved the screws since they are NLA. I better give Henk a call and get the screws renovated......yet another small project.
