The last major 308 gathering I know of was east-ish. F-Chatter Jim Shadow organized an event in Tennessee or maybe Louisiana - somewhere far east of me, I don't remember where exactly. I think that was 2008.

Right in my back yard, but, alas, I wasn't an owner or part of the 308 community yet. I would have loved this.

I had to look on a map to see where it was and yes, it really was right in your neighborhood.

See, you should have bought a 308 sooner!

Look on the bright side, the parking lot was littered with screws and nails. So much I thought is was deliberate.

Several of us had serious issues trying to get home on tires that wouldn't hold air.

The upside was I came in third in the show. I still have two t-shirts too!

First, let me thank everyone for their interest. It has been fun looking into "custom" t-shirts, something I've never done before. It's also been educational.

So, here is where we are at, in a nutshell

I feel like if we are going to make shirts they should look good . . . meet or exceed the bar of standard retail quality. I want to make a shirt that I'd want to wear.

Having quite a collection of F1 team shirts and automotive related shirts from Italy, I've got a good, albeit subjective, foundation from which to approach this, but cost is of course a factor.

We've run this by several vendors, and I believe that I have identified the best vendor for the job . . . who btw did an excellent job on shirts for my friend's automotive performance shop a couple of years ago.

Without opening the kitchen to additional cooks, here are some specs: Black only, A couple of styles of t-shirt, one a unisex standard T, the other a lighter weight, fitted, more Euro style shirt. Front artwork will be the "40 For 40" art seen on the initial post, one sleeve will carry a stand alone "3x8" graphic, and the back will incorporate a photo from the actual event in a nice graphic marking the date and location.

As I said, I'm not relaying this to open the floor to every other t-shirt designer, I just want to provide good information so that we can make a proper evaluation as whether to proceed.

What this all means is that the shirts will not be made until after the event (as to incorporate the image), but more importantly – we will not run the order unless we have enough pre-sales. That's right, I appreciate the interest, but I'm not taking on a dime of risk here and I know Ferrari owners all-too-well LOL.

So, my question to you: How interested are you? What would you be willing to pay for a shirt?

It's a cost thing. Door is not closed but can't really devote the time to re-tooling the art for a white background.

I'm in for two and I hope to be there. I think they're worth $20 each or so.

I'll buy two to support the cause but I don't care for black t-shirts either.

Nothing wrong with them, they just aren't me. That logo is just way too cool, though. Have to have it even if it is only on a black shirt.

I'm looking into a reasonable way to make it work on another color, but please keep in mind that the logo was designed against black, so replacing the black affects how well the overall contrast works. This would be most evident with the 3X8 graphic floating over the reflection. I'm open to alternates such as anthracite, red, maybe even navy, but I'm having a hard time seeing how this could possibly work on white, not to mention my problem with white shirts–eternal yellow collars and armpits, but I digress. The other issue is of course cost. It's not so much the mix of stock shirts, but trying to make everyone 100% happy on zero-budget is next to impossible. We'll do the best we can and if we get enough money we'll make some shirts . . . I appreciate everyone's interest

I'm OK for $25, black, light, fitted small size but I could live without the extra back photo...It's a lovely graphic, don't want to detract from it; just my 2c

I'd actually pay a bit more for one if it were nice. (say $35 or $40)

my experience has been that frequently event shirts are printed on cheaper cotton that is rough or thick. I buy one and really the best use for it is while working in the shop.

If we could get something made from like a nice soft american apparel tee, or even like some performance fabric...I'd actually want to wear that out and about.
