I am looking for ONE (1) of the knurled, round thumb nuts that are correct for the carbed 308 aircleaner lid. Someone must be holding one!! Let me know...

Daniel, that's fantastic! Exactly what I was hoping for - I would much rather support an FChatter or FChat Vendor, when possible.

Quick question - I live in San Jose, CA (zip 95128). It looks like the only shipping option on your website is UPS Expedited @ $23.77 (if I order 4, which I was thinking of doing to have a new, matched "set"). Is there a less expensive option? I don't need these anytime soon, if it matters...

    Thanks!

If you use the standard shipping, it would probably arrive in San Jose on Tuesday for $6.50 via US Postal. Honestly, the postal service moves faster than UPS, especially on a holiday weekend.

Be sure that's the correct version for your model. Certain years of carb cars had domed nuts that are different from that version. If you're going for concours correctness, that is...

The original early flat thumbnuts are non ferrous (brass I think). The repros being sold are steel.

    +1 Agreed

My '78 & '75 car came with brass ones ~30 years ago. When one got away, the replacement I got from the dealer was silver zinc or cad plated. I like the patina of the brass, but it depends on your year. I've seen two beautiful super lo-miles '79 GTS' that came with the bigger dome ones. Of course matching is important, that was my dilemma.

    What's on your car now?

I have never noticed the difference on material, on the flat ones.

Ricambis are "what you use" these days!!!

Odd, the description, Daniel and I have discussed the fact that the Battery cover nuts are a whole different thing, larger, with a bottom groove to be captive with a "C" clip....

I have lost these air box nuts, all across America.
    :D :D :D

The tip to keeping them, against engine vibration, is to put a rubber faucet washer underneath, and a dab of epoxy on the threads of the stud above!

Some GT4s and the 1978 GTB/S owners swear the closed top "acorn" nut is correct.
    Maybe so!

    Thanks Daniel!!

I think I left a set in the console of #22641, damn it.
I probaly need to order some new ones for yellow #22127!
I will call you, next week.

Ricambis are not 'repros', they are OEM, it's simply a superseeded Ferrari part.

I guess the wreckers like FerrParts might have the older ones....

Well the description in the link say mfd by Hill so I doubt they are original. Unless the description is wrong.

Yes do make sure to use the thick rubber gasket otherwise you will keep losing them. I am still looking for one of the battery cover nuts that fell in the hole. Its in there but I really don't want to take the nose off to find it. I need to do coolant before long so will remove the cover and hopefully be able to find it then. :)

Thanks to everyone for your input. Mine are not the domed type, though I have seen them on older GT4s at shows and such. I don't mind a different type metal than OEM - my car is not a concourse vehicle, and last I checked, Hill Engineering isn't the same as using AutoZone parts. Know what I mean?! ;)
