    So, I finally got my 550 I purchased back in May home after having the local dealership go through it from top to bottom to make the car perfect. As I have a F430 and a 328 GTS as well I was expecting a more throaty exhaust note. Is the 550 just a more quiet touring car. As well from reading here it seems squeaky brakes are the norm. Any input would be appreciated.

    Congratulations on your new 550.
    You probably have stock factory mufflers on your 550.
    There are many aftermarket mufflers along with straight pipes or an X-Pipe that will definitely make that V-12 throaty.

    There are 100 threads on exhausts here. My car has a Tubi, which has a nice burble at idle and then quiets down at cruisong speeds.

    I done an exhaust systrm with 6-1 headers for 550/575....

    had you driven a 550 before buying this one. please tell me about your impressions since you have two other Ferrari. what do you think of the differences

    Yes agreed with above. I only have a Tubi cat back which has an awesome deep burble at low RPM but I think mid pipes would be essential for full audio pleasure.

    I also notice my exhaust sounds so quiet. mine is a 97 550.
