Is the Gallardo too common?

I live in San Diego, And if there's any Lamborghini I see on a regular basis its a Gallardo followed by the Hurcan and Aventador.

Could it be the location or is anyone else noticing?

I find it sad when I owned my Fiero id get more excited to see a Fiero driving down the road than a Gallardo. I put the Gallardo on the same level as an Elise. They're kind of common.

Hah, I was at that event. The Murci had a proper stick shift too. Mrowr.

 

Try living in Las Vegas. I see more Gallardos than I do Toyotas.... LOL

 

Lamborghini did build a lot of Gallardos. I don't have a problem with seeing them often as to me they are a beautiful car. It's great to be surrounded by beauty and to have a Gallardo, Murcielago, Aventador or Huracan beside me in traffic can never get boring. It's always an event.

 

6,325 Elises imported between 2005 and 2011. That's quite rare.

There are three Murci's in my parking garage, downtown San Diego.

 

I've seen one...but I'm in southern Minnesota...

 

No kidding. I'll see a Gallardo about every 2-3 months if I stay away from downtown Boston. On the highways any Lambo is exceedingly rare in this conservative area.

It could also be because they tend to be reliable and inexpensive to maintain.

 

Mine and a pre-LP are, but they aren't for sale. The other LP is a factory matte blue egear car.

 

Lots of them around my area. For an "exotic" they are quite common, I would put them on the same level as a 360.

It's not, but it's no Fiero.

 

I have been to San Diego twice in the last month and have yet to see any exotic car there guess I am hanging out in the wrong spots. Where do I go when I am back there in a week and a half?

Wow! Still looking great, this car will age very gracefully indeed.

 

Lambo made somewhere of around 14k Gallardos vs 16k 360s produced by Ferrari. I agree with one of the comments above that the Gallardo is kinda in the same category as the 360 for me. Now don't get me wrong it's still a great car, and performance and technology wise better than the 360. But from an exotic standpoint, it's somewhat in line I think, maybe a tad more exotic to see.

The thing with a Gallardo is, that Lambo figured out they could sell cars. That's why they made so many and they sold really well. They continued that trend with the Aventador. They have already made more Aventadors than Murcis, and there are still 4 or 6 years left in the production run. At our local cars and coffee here you see more Aventadors than Murics hands down. And Gallardos obviously a lot of those.

They're all great cars, but I think the value and true exotics are with the V12 Lambos ending with the Murci, the last true V12 Lambo engine, with a somewhat limited production. Don't get me wrong, I love the other Lambos too, but they are more common and def lack a little of the mystique of Lamborghini.

 

Didn't Lamborghini stated; they will make only 4000 Aventadors, all models?

I see Gallardo one most beutiful desing of last decade, only Maserati Gran turismo came close, but Ferrari had nothing to compare.

 

You might be right with that. Just saw production numbers are lower than I expected.

Extremely common in South Florida, but I enjoy seeing it every time! Especially the special edition models!

Fiero pretty much defines EXCITEMENT!

 

In June 2013 there were 2000 Aventadors, since then 1,000 SV's (500 coupe / 500 vert) and 100 50th cars. I'm going to go out on a limb and say production numbers are going to be well over 4,000 over the life of the Aventador.

Also, Lamborghini Newport has 2015 Aventador #3717.

 

Lamborghini themselves stated they'd build c.4000 units back in 2011 or thereabouts didn't they?
