since I am down to three Ferrari and so many other makes I decided to start a thread. I know many of you have multiple makes like myself. starting with my 365gt4 2 2, I sent it to a shop in Indiana today. I will know in a week what is what. I am trying out an independent Porsche shop to fix my 430 Maserati. steering rack, speedo. and AC. I took my new purchase, Bitter SC(serial number 253) to a BMW guy. leaking auto transmission. I will take it back next week after he finishes with a 550 AC compressor install, not mine. I have a shop lined up to work on my two Chrysler 300's. one old geezer. I will try to find one more shop. 17 cars need things. three really have serious needs, the two QP 1's. but I got that solved as well. they go in after Sept. the 550 has been setting for months. I will try to charge it tomorrow and dust it off. construction has a lot of cement dust covering it. Garage building will restart a week from today. 30 tons of steel will start up. 1/16' tolerance on steel and elevator installation. painters started on my four houses today. they all need glazing and touchup. I own four in a row. garage is going up behind one. I have a thread, 'new garage' in Rosa for those interested. my biturbo spyder(89) will be worked on this week by me. clutch needs fluid and I plan on taking it to a car wash, clean it up and install the new top assy. it looks so bad that my insurance company refused to insure it. I need to get four cars titled so I will start digging documents out tonight since I am wide awake. busy retired boy, having great fun. I miss my QP3 that burnt. and am thinking about taking one of the six I have the motor from the burnt car and starting back but that is really I project thst can wait

Hmmm...... Your Maserati 430 is going to a Porsche specialist and your Opel/Vauxhall based Bitter SC is going to a BMW specialist?

I take your Ferrari's go to a Lamborghini specialist?

Shop. Did not catch the the 365 Ferrari had two spark plugs with no gap. Not good at all. So I hope to get the Maserati back with all the wheels bolted on. No Lamborghini dealer. Darn

The Porsche shop failed to spot two spark plugs with no gap!

That doesn't inspire much confidence for them looking after any car, let alone a Porsche, Maserati or Ferrari!

As for the Maserati wheels, I'm sure they'll be bolted on - I just wouldn't like to guess how many bolts might be fitted to each wheel or if they are actually tightened up!

(Better check them all yourself before you go to drive away! ;) )

430 Maserati got done at the Porsche shop. fixed, new speedo, AC and steering rack. as I drove away I noticed the red dash light on. they must have missed a wire. will take it back after they finish the 89' spyder. spyder getting a belt and a general review. I have owned it since march. waiting for a shop that will fix things. Bitter, I got a price for paint and rust fix, $14,000. forget that. it is getting a leaky automatic fix and other little stuff. 1962 Chrysler 300 goes in tomorrow. window motor, weather stripping and new instrument cluster. LaForza at another shop. it came in Sat. driver door would not unlock. that got fixed. general oil/filter and lub. next. the car has been sitting for 10 years. runs great. ford 305 motor. it needs an interior. that is next week. this will be my sisters winter driver. I have one as well. they are amazing for traction. so five shops are working on five cars. 365gt4 is having the motor fixed in Indiana. I will use four or five more shops here. one for upholstery. one for a second Chrysler 300 another for a 400ai that has a few needs. I am determined to get these finished. I have two body shops lined up. progress. I tried using one shop for all. that did not work. they all took advantage.

Only one Ferrari in my garage, but since we are talking about other makes in our garage, here's mine:

    1967 Karmann Ghia Convertible
    1974 Karmann Ghia Coupe
    1985 Mercedes W123 Turbo-Diesel
1985 Ferrari Mondial Coupe (1 of 19 imported into NA in 85)

Plus, mostly boring daily drivers (2013 Hyundai Elantra GT, 2014 F150, 2015 BMW X3diesel).

All but the 74 Ghia Coupe are derivable. Tha one is in pieces undergoing a lengthy restoration. It's sort of a retirement project - even though I'm not retired yet.

Like you, I'm probably going to build a garage specifically for my cars. Something with climate control (it gets waaay too hot here in Texas), tall ceilings, lots of power - and I've been toying with the idea of a complete solar power system

I've been enjoying your threads on here since I joined last year. Keep them coming. They've just about convinced me that I need a 400 - probably an automatic so that the wife can drive!

Bitter, radiator all brakes. that shop has not checked the oils either. they sure do not want to listen to the customer. Maserati spyder , I had to order a clutch, that car should be finished next week..ferrari,365 gt4, call from the shop last night, motor has to come out. I authorized $20,000 to start. Merak SS sprung a water leak. second trip out.no biggie. one step fwd. one back.

Merak has a leaking radiator. the shop I wanted to use, I have been waiting for a month. took it today. good reputation. they will take my Ferrari 400 next. it needs a new key switch. parts came in for the LaForza. tomorrow the last parts will be in for the 89' Maserati, clutch, tomorrow. that car is at a good shop. the 1962 Chrysler 300 will not start unless a little gas is poured in the carb. I found a speedometer head to do an exchange. that will keep the garage happy. the shop that has the Bitter took a week vacation so that car sits. I found out they have not done anything but look at it, been there three weeks now. grumble. I sure know how to kill a day. get very little done. I fell right into retirement. I should hear from the shop that is working on my 365 Wed.

365, timing chain so tight. with only 1,000 miles on the motor/car, it and the bearing related to it. the Canadian shop had carb. jets that made the motor run so rich that all the cylinders were washed. all the bottom end inserts scraped. gas in the oil. a lot of blue glue bits in the pan. pick up screen stopped them. on valve was three times the lash. the shop needs a week t finish their report. heads are still together and he wants to measure everything. my kind of shop. 1989 Maserati spyder, a last minute glitch, no copper washer for the drain plug. I asked about the AC. someone used the AC radiator for a jack point. so new coming tomorrow. LaForza, after flying in the parts the shop owner decided to work on another car. a hole. Bitter, sitting until next week, mechanic on vacation. I pulled two more cars out of storage. a second LaForza, will not start. it has been sitting since Feb., and a second Merak SS that has been sitting since 2004, two shops "rebuild" the motor. it had 5 lbs. of oil pressure. they did not clean out the oil passages. I should have my Ferrari SD 1 computer back by the end of next week. if so I can get my 2002 Maserati spyder going. it has been sitting 6 years. car has 9,000 miles. sad story. my Ferrari 400ai convertible will go in for a new key switch as soon as the Maserati spyder comes out. progress. photo, my 34 car garage, under construction, next post.. this laptop is not working for posting?

Bunds..I think you need to thin the heard a bit. i feel you are throwing perfectly good money out the window. Sell a few and buy a couple of really nice well sorted cars, and enjoy them. I think you need to stop chasing your tail.

I think your a fellow with a big heart, but it may be time to cut your loses..

my retirement plan: croak and broke arrived. by year end the garage project will require 2 million plus. cars will be on top of that. balance due to finish garage project, $638,000. dollars available, $100,000 less. so the dry lay stone will wait. and maybe the pool. cars will get done. all but the 365 have little left.

a resounding YES1 I am having a happy time spending the millions I saved. I pay no attention to what things cost. I just buy want I want. my brother and sister, the only possible people that would benefit are very unhappy and told me, 'you are spending our money', HELLO in there.

Mitchell, please be careful out there. As you know, all the forces of nature, particularly the two-legged kind, will conspire to take what you've earned away from you if you give them the least opportunity. Spend it, but do it discreetly and get your money's worth. All the best.

all the parts came in for the 1989 Maserati spyder. I sure hope I have all the heeds covered. the LaForza radiator got recored and the shop promised that done Monday. the Better came apart and I have the brake rotors. the must be measured. 38 or 40 mm. groan. a second LaForza will go in as soon as the first one comes out. I have to install an interior and get the exhaust replaced. and get the AC working. I got the second Merak SS out of storage. it has been sitting since 2004. so a good week coming up

excited about Wed. that is when I hear about all the problems and the cost solution to fix the 365. finally the LaForza is being worked on. A hole shop let it sit for two weeks now. dumb me flew parts in so he would not tie a rack up. Bitter, all the parts got ordered(brakes).2002 Maserati Spyder needed a Ferrari SD2 computer to figure out why one fuel pump was not getting electric. since it was a salvage title the dealers will not work on the car. Merak SS needs a radiator repair. the part will be fixed tomorrow.

The 1962 Chrysler 300 is all finished(but dash pad, a new one coming from Sweden). Runs perfect. Paid $12,500. + transport plus parts and repairs$8,000. Radiator ready to pick up for for the Merak SS. That is the only thing it needed. The Ferrari 365 block assembly is back together. Heads apart. Had to order all valves. Car will be back home this month. Estimated cost $25,000. Already spent $175,000 on this car. Second rebuild in 1,000 miles These type of deals sure take the enjoyment away Drive way getting full. Two Chrysler 300's a Masersti 430. A 1991 Camray and out of site, under plastic a Maserati QP1

Are you buying more cars are just dialing in current cars? I have been following your garage build and it seems like you are having a blast! I have my personal car advertised right now and I would like to get something like a BMW 2002 or lower end classic Porsche....
