$200 is best price so far, seems a little much for a porsche that

    is not going that far.

Have you thought about joining AAA+ or Premier? I think I pay something like $104+/- per year for Premier and can get up to 3 tows with one 200 miles and the other two up to 100 miles. Plus gives you 100 mile tows. They will bring a flat bed if requested though you will have to wait longer. I fortunately haven't had to use it but not a bad "piece of mind" item for owners of older F cars.

The car must not run for AAA to get involved. AAA will not tow it to a paint shop etc....

I never heard of that. Never had a problem before on any of my cars. For example I need a seal done, the car ran but didn't want to drive it to be safe. Car run's just need's service. Not sure if it's a "paint shop" thing, but a they take a car running or not.

Just found this online. So I guess you could be right that it has to be road worthy..Not a pile of junk or just a frame..

I think he means "convenience tow".

If you read the AAA regulations carefully it is for "breakdowns" or emergency towing hence the term AAAEmergency service.

Anything else is considered a convenience to you and not covered under the AAA Emergency coverage.

AAA towing is really only for your running road legal car.. Nothing else
It is for emergency's not moving junk or parts cars ,,if you have had someone in teh past do it ,,you just got lucky and the driver did'nt care

So you did'nt get "denied" you tried to use the system and it did'nt work

10 cars and apparently no truck to tow a trailer? The $200 is not the issue here.

My guy has very low rates, he is a independent, has his own flatbed, and lives in the LAX area.

I always thought that was the reason to get AAA in the first place.
