A masked up FF mule passed me last week in Maranello, with a distinct V8 turbo soundtrack accompanying it...

If even close to true then I am even more thrilled I bought my F12 now...potential for V8-Hybrid for flagship GT car?
No thank you, not a snowball's chance in Hell would I buy that....I would rather crush my nutz in a vice and then light them on fire.

While the future cars no doubt will be fast, beautiful, exciting to drive......I feel an amazing era is drawing to a close...

If you going to order one i suggest waiting for the 2016.

I was going to order one but after I knew about the 2016 I put my name for it.

    It's few months away.

    And I can't see a V8 Turbo beating the NA V12 sound.

Thanks. Actually I was very close to ordering a current model for build later this year. But sense has prevailed and I have just decided to buy a used 2013 FF that has everything I wanted (except Carplay). I will use that meanwhile and see what the facelift looks like. I have been informed that if the 2016 car is a V8 variant it will run along side the V12 for now.

I dig that gullwing rendition. I could see pulling the trigger on that if it becomes a reality.

The article if it is to be believed said V8 as "entry level" implying a V12 as an option? I would pay more for it whatever the hp of the V8. This car is about the engine.

    Agreement.

I can see the FF going to a V8 but I cannot see the flagship production 2 seater not being V12. Whether they have KERS/Hybrid or turbos remains to be seen. I am informed it will be turbos across the lineup for the future.... time shall reveal...

Assuming they use the same 3.9 V8 Turbo in the FF as they use in the 488, i guess it will have about 660 HP. So if they sell the V12 FF along side it, i guess that will have to be upped from the current 650 HP to circa 700 HP to distinguish it. That will make an already incredibly fast usable car insanely fast.

You didn't hear it before you saw it. Unfair to compare a V12 to TT V8...

A narrower F12 with a modular chassis and hybrid or TTV8? The Luca F12s are really going to remain the best to own.

"2021 F12 replacement Still front-engined, but could adopt V8 hybrid power"

Whatever the specs...that timeline is ludicrous. There is no way in hell that Ferrari will wait that long to release the F12 replacement. One thing that won't change in the transition from Luca to Sergio is the way they replace the V12 GT flagship.

This is pure speculation on my part, but it only makes sense that they would release the F12 VS and continue to produce the standard F12 alongside it like they did with the 599 & GTO. Once the VS production comes to an end, we will start to see/hear rumours and mules of the replacement.

I predict the release of a completely new V12 GT car to be 2018.

Great nutshell description of a V12.

And unlike with motorcycles, its a good, lovely noise...

Lots of good stuff here, but to me the most personally exciting thing is the possible new Dino -- the modern Ferrari is absolutely fantastic but is all Wagnerian sturm und drang -- would welcome a great, lightweight, compact, tossable fun Ferrari

Sergio Marchionne doesn't have the same feeling for Ferrari' s past traditions.

His leadership is going to mark the endo of one era and the start of a new one.
