1261 GT was sold new to Gottfried Koechert, the famous jeweller in Vienna.
1531 GT was sold new to Giuseppe Biolchini in Milan.

Nice additions to this thread, thank you.
The silver car's interior is unique. I have seen this color as original leather inside another PF coupe.

    Hi
My 1121 GT was bought by Lothar Hoess ( my neighbor and vintage racer pal) from Michigan and brought to New Hampshire. Lothar flew my 17 year old son to Michigan, he purchased the car and drove it back to N.H. It may sound crazy, but my son grew up around, driving and working on ,our 300SL,XK 120, Porsches, 328, etc so he was very capable and was trustworthy . Lothar wanted to buy a Calif. Spyder , so sold the car to me in 1985 . I raced it quite a bit ,although, it was never a race car and was completly stock including drum brakes. I raced it at Bridgehampton,Lime Rock, Loudon N.H., Mt. Equinox and others. I used to drive from N. H. to Lime Rock , Conn ,race and drive it home . It has never failed me except when I broke a few spokes while trying to catch a fast Astin Martin at Bridgehampton. These days , she is driven to car club meetings, car runs, and car shows.
I would like to know the history around the covered headlights.
    cheers lew

Thanks Lew for the background. Have you looked under the bodywork to reach your own conclusion as to why/how the nose came about? Sometimes it would be done out of fancy and sometimes necessity, in the aftermath of a shunt. Tom Meade did some of these too. Thanks.

Not sure if this was the same original leather color code as the one posted by Michael above. Is this what it looks like after 56 years?

    Wolfing,

I think the car is 1435GT (?) and that leather color is Connolly VM3476. I have a very small sample of the original leather kindly provided by Connolly in London (on a visit to their facility in the early 1990s) from remaining period stock - there was only a little left. Pininfarina had described the color as 'Verde' so I was surprised by the real turquoise color. The original has some darker highlights in the grain, not such a pure color.

    The car is 1261 GT.
The original interior color was plastic and leather Azzurro VM 3478.

Thanks for the clarification Marcel, I was guessing because 1435 is originally grigio conchiglia with the turquoise. I understand that VM3476 and VM3478 are similar family of color and these leather colors were used on at least several coupes each, going through the Pininfarina list.

Verde VM 3476 (1435 GT) is NOT the same or similar to Azzurro VM 3478 (1261 GT). Simply because the two Connolly Vaumol numbers are close to each other it means nothing.

I did not say VM3476 and VM3478 were the same and I did not say that the proximity of the numbers is what identifies the color family; I am aware that Connolly numbers do not suggest a particular color. My only point was that the two leathers are in the turquoise family, nothing more.

Does anyone have any knowledge of 2023 GT prior to ~1970? Previous owner bought the car in New Jersey in 1975. Owner prior to 1975 was an engineer (New Jersey electrical utility). The car sat in a gas station in Belmar, NJ for several years before 1975. I plan to get this car back on the road, which it has not seen since ~1975. This car was blu sera/naturale.

1147 GT delivered new in Lausanne to Guinness (Swiss resident). Can anyone confirm if this was Guinness of the Irish beer and banking family? This car was grigio scuro. 1147 GT is in driving condition (recent appearance at Concorso Italiano - Monterey 2015) and keeps company with 2023 GT.
