I did a factory tour today. They were NOT able to take us to the 12 cylinder production line. They said it was shut down for maintenance. Later in the day, I asked our tour guide when production would begin for the new special version of the F12 - she said: "I can tell you for sure that it will begin before the end of this year, but that is all I am allowed to tell you... I am sorry...."

I attended a private viewing in late July and then configured my car. The triple yellow certainly had a massive impact on the eyes and showed off all the extra bodywork beautifully.

At that time, the lady in the Atelier said that triple yellow had been the most popular choice follwed by metallic reds (there was a 'regular' Rosso Maranello F12 in the Atelier that day that looked wonderful). She was advising against very dark colours because detail would be lost. Whilst I'm a big Fuoco fan, I felt history of the car that they were trying to create needed a more classic 1960s colour so I opted for GFM with a predominantly Cuoio interior.

Yes, I still have the GTO. The car is absolutely wonderful and I can't see myself selling her. My matching LF should arrive soon too 😀😀😀

Man, I'm jealous. I should have been a neurosurgeon or better money manager. Congrats! Can't wait to see pics of your new beauties.

I saw a mule similar to this one two days ago between Modena and Maranello. The front was plain but the rear was covered and you could spot the air outtakes.

From those that have seen the car and from what we see here, question marks have been raised about the aesthetics, not all positive.

I raised this with someone from the design team and received an interesting reply. When they designed the 599, they started with a relatively soft looking car. To turn it into the GTO ,they therefore had ample scope to add aggression. However, starting with the F12, they already began with an aggressive looking car and thus it was very difficult to add to it and they were consequently forced to take a different route with a different language.

In my opinion any complaints about the aesthetics can be resolved by choosing a color that either mutes the objectionable elements or accentuates them. I would choose to accentuate them.

Yup. I for one really like the aesthetic changes in the VS, and went the route of making the car even more aggressive with the livery.

Would you tell us the scheme you went with? Your traditional livery?

Mostly: Triple yellow, blue carbon inside and out, blue metal grilles, and a blue scuderia-style stripe from hood to trunklid. I didn't initially think a stripe would work with the VS design, but when we mocked it up at Tailor Made, I loved it.

Thank you Ben. Having been keen on Grigio F and no stripe, I am very interested to hear your comments about the stripe's suitability which has me thinking going back to a metallic Pozzi or a very dark blue and contrasting stripe. Hopefully I get to see the configurator in 2 weeks.

That photo of the red F12 VS looks like it is lowered to the same level as my F12. Not sure but I thought someone reported that it was at stock height. That was kind of confusing because the F12 performs way better being lowered a certain amount.

The special/ limited models usually get lowered a little bit.

Treynor that is a very bold and as I am imagining it, beautiful spec for this car! Congratulations!

Mahmud thank you for the pictures. My goodness I really love (what I know of) this car!

Interesting how they don't bother to use proper camouflage - they know that we know the definitive looks of the car at a 99% :D
